She does no poses, choosing to maintain a cold and emotionless look as she makes her way down the entrance ramp. At the centre of the ring, she soaks in her first ever EAW match.)
Maria Del Ray: THE FOLLOWING CONTEST SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL!! INTRODUCING FIRST!!!! From Birmingham, England… weighing in at 138 pounds, she is the RIIIIPPPEEERRRRR, HAALLLLLLLSEEEYY NEEEEELLLL!
Ben Knight: Although this is Fight Grid, we’ve seen countless rookie stars blossom, some of which debuted here. Harley Lewis, Joso and Aurora Munroe have fought in these very ropes, and we are going to see if Halsey can follow in those continuously progressing footsteps. After all, much like her fellow Englishman who had an impressive showing in his Grand Rampage match, we are going to see if she can do the same here tonight.
Clark Ruggerio: You have made a lot of good points there. No matter the match or the area, it is up to these new recruits to make a name wherever they go. Now, Halsey is going to face some competition here tonight, another man who is also looking to make an impact of his own.
(‘Catalina Fight Song’ by Joyce Manor plays and echoes throughout the speakers. A few spotlights focus on Nick Hart as he makes his way to the entrance stage. Unlike Halsey’s demeanour, he does a flex pose and embraces the boos. Nick stares Halsey down, the eye contact sticking as he finally makes his way down the entrance ramp and into the ring. Both competitors get close to each other before Nick takes a cowardly step back.)
Maria Del Ray: INTRODUCING HER OPPONENT… From Portland, Oregon! Weighing in at 225 pounds, he is the Man of 1000 Pins… NIIIICCCCCCCCCKKKKK HAAAAARRRT!
Ben Knight: He hasn’t had the best start in EAW as of late, but he looks to be focused on his redemption match! Despite his loss, he isn’t an easy competitor to face. The question lies in Halsey’s ability to negate his attempt at rollup victories. This is going to be a great match, and the crowd is going to get what they paid for, and then some.
Clark Ruggerio: That’s absolutely right, Ben. I know there’s a lot riding on both competitors right now, and that’s clear in Halsey’s sheer focus. While Nick is posing in his corner, Halsey is stretching in hers. The crowd doesn’t like either of them, but it’s clear that Halsey seems to be more focused heading into his match.
(DING! DING! DING!)
Ben Knight: And we are off! It’s time to see what both these competitors are made of. Nick and Halsey engage in a tight collar-elbow tie up! Halsey has shown to be more technically proficient, but the height and weight advantage lies with Nick! It’s interesting to see which of these competitors can get the early start.
Clark Ruggerio: Nick is overpowering Halsey, as she has been brought down to one knee. It’s time to see what this new EAW recruit is truly made of. She doesn’t back down, though. Halsey pushes herself up and grabs Nick’s left bicep! She rolls underneath his arm and twists it down! The technical prowess of the Ripper is showing against her much stronger and larger opponent!
Ben Knight: Halsey is wrenching that arm down, man. Nick is trying to hold his screams and groans, and clasps his hand with his wrenched arm, trying to relieve the pressure! However, Halsey is all too familiar with this. That British background is truly coming into play here, as Halsey uses her strength and leverage to flip Nick head first onto the hardwood mat! Nick, however, dusts his shoulders off and prepares to go for another collar-elbow tie up…
Clark Ruggerio: BUT NO! Halsey ducks underneath for a tight waistlock! She’s holding it on tight, and uses her forward momentum to push Nick into the ropes! He, however, manages to rebound off it but a POWERFUL dropkick puts Nick back down onto the mat. What an excellent display of ring awareness by Halsey Neel tonight! Nick holds his chest in pain, as Halsey scouts him down. She pulls him up as Halsey begins raining down on Nick with chops to the ribs! Nick is clearly struggling with her superior quickness and ruthlessness.
Ben Knight: Halsey doesn’t seem to be stopping, either! She’s going for multiple forearm smashes, aiming right for his eye sockets! It seems like she’s trying to get rid of his vision to enable a quicker victory tonight! Halsey reels her forearm back, but Nick manages to strike her with a Headbutt! Halsey is still standing, and goes for a blind haymaker! However, Nick ducks underneath and goes for the Schoolboy Rollup!
Referee: ONEEEEEEEE-
Ben Knight: SHE KICKS OUT! That wasn’t going to do much, as Nick had finally found out. If he wants to take her down, he has to quit with the pins and beat her to a bloody pulp! He goes for a kick to her stomach, and it connects! Nick is raining down rights and lefts, consistently trying to get her off balance. He takes a pose in the centre of the ring, and Halsey is left on one knee! Nick knows this is his chance to finish it off as easily as possible! He runs and rebounds off the ropes going for a Baseball Slide clothesline, but it doesn’t connect! Halsey has pushed herself up and landed a powerful clothesline of her own! Nick doesn’t seem to be finding his rhythm in this match at all, Clark!
Clark Ruggerio: No, he does not. He needs to really take it up a notch and get creative! Halsey is familiar with a lot of the technical aspects of things, and if it was me, I would’ve tried to make it a power game! Halsey goes for countless MMA-style kicks to the ribs of Nick, and it’s working! He’s been dropped to one knee! LIke you said, Ben, he’s not getting any major momentum going in this match! It’s been all Halsey from the bell! However, he’s not on one knee just yet! Halsey goes for a powerful roundhouse kick-
Ben Knight: BUT IT DOESN’T CONNECT! Nick ducks underneath and clasps his hands on her waist for a powerful German Suplex! Halsey is shocked by this shift of momentum. Nick knows he has to finally capitalise on this surprising opportunity! Halsey holds her neck in pain, and Nick tries to pull and pick her into a standing position!
Clark Ruggerio: Nick is going for several chops of his own! Nick! Nick! NIck! It keeps on coming, and he goes for a Half-and-half suplex! Nick hooks her arm and tosses her overhead! What a move and a momentum-finder for the visibly struggling Nick Hart! He knows that he’s stronger than her, and he has to keep using that to his advantage. Nick wraps her arm loosely around his neck, and lifts her up for a suplex! Halsey does not have any answer for his power and strength! Halsey groans in pain, upset at allowing Nick to get his rhythm in. However, Nick just keeps going! He drives his boot through her shoulder, as she falls on the mat! Nick goes for the cover again!
Referee: ONEEEEEEEE!
Referee: TWOOOOOOO-
Clark Ruggerio: And she kicks out again! Nick looks visibly upset, but tries to keep his onslaught of power! He’s raining down fists, open handed and close handed strikes down on her face! She’s covering up, but it keeps on coming! Nick reels his hand back but Halsey takes his split-second delay and uses it to her advantage! She pulls him towards her, and begins biting down on his ear! What the hell, man?
Ben Knight: Now, that’s just gross. However, if it works, it works. Nick is pushed back into a standing position, but is holding his ear which seems to leak some blood! When you’re facing Halsey, rest assured there is going to most likely BE blood. She begins using his struggle with pain to her advantage, and landing shots of her own! Halsey! Halsey! Halsey- but NO! Nick rams her against the turnbuckle, and begins attempting shoulder barges of his own! Nick! Nick! Nick- No! Halsey hooks his head in between her arms and tries to trap him in a Guillotine Choke! Jesus Christ, what a battle between both competitors here tonight! The hold locks on, and Nick is struggling, but so is Halsey! Nick, in a moment of desperation, grabs her thighs and throws her over his head! She lands back first onto the turnbuckle!
Clark Ruggerio: What a match, man. Both competitors are really giving it their all, no matter the cost. It’s important that they don’t get too comfortable, though. Nick is stomping on her at the corner! Nick! Nick! Nick- and he sticks it in! The referee sees the overlap between the ropes and goes for the count!
Referee: ONEEEEE!!!
Referee: TWWWOOOOO-
Clark Ruggerio: And he pulls his foot off her face! However, when Halsey feels like she has a moment of security, he stomps on her once more! Nick is posing in the centre of the ring, unaware that Halsey is trying to recover off the onslaught! Nick begins flexing his biceps, but Halsey gets herself back up into a standing position- but Nick comes in with a clothesline! No! Halsey side steps it and Nick kisses the turnbuckle! Halsey hooks both of his arms for a release Dragon Suplex! Nick is left on the ground, showing signs of movement but struggling to do so! Halsey smiles and knows what she has to do now!
Ben Knight: Nick pushes himself into a standing position, but it’s too late! Halsey connects with an ‘Off With Your Head’! The bicycle knee pushes Nick back, but the Yakuza kick finally drops him onto the ground! She knows this is her moment to get a win of her own, and begins stomping on a downed Nick for good measure! Halsey! Halsey! Halsey! Halsey! Halsey! She’s controlling every single part of this match tonight! Halsey knows that Nick cannot take anymore shots and stomps! She, however, wants to break and humiliate him! Halsey grabs both his legs and wraps them around her leg! She stays on the side and pulls back! The ropes are far away and Nick knows there’s no other way out! He finally taps out from the pain and struggle, knowing that he has to live to fight another day!
(DING! DING! DING!)
(‘Seek and Destroy plays throughout the speakers once more. The crowd is silent and in fear of what she has done, knowing that another set of boos might trigger her to come to them. A cheeky grin forms on her face, as she maintains the same cold, and callous demeanour in and out of the ring. Everyone else is in shock, and as she exits the ring, everyone takes a few steps back from the front row. The commentators are also in shock and fear for their own lives. With no gimmicks or poses, she walks down the entrance ramp and heads for the exit.)
Maria Del Ray: HERE IS YOUR WINNER, HAAAAALLLLLSSEEEY NEEEEEEELLLL!
Ben Knight: W-well, that was quite the match. Nick had a lot of offence going, but Halsey was just more creative and tactically proficient than Nick was! However, this was a good showing from both talents, but tonight was just Halsey’s night.
Clark Ruggerio: You’re right, Ben. This is definitely a warning to anyone who dares to face her, and has been shown of what she’s capable of! What a way to make your name known in this grand company of EAW! We will definitely be hyped and stoked to see what she has in store for her opponents in the coming weeks.
