(Fight Grid intro plays.)
[SCREENBAR: POST-VOLTAGE 05/03]
(The camera opens up to the backstage area of the M&S Bank Arena, where Sunday Night Voltage took place this past weekend. Sofia Clarke is seen as she is standing by with a smile on her face and a microphone in hand. After a moment, she then begins to speak.)
Sofia Clarke: Welcome back to Fight Grid, and we are hot off the heels of an exciting Sunday Night Voltage as the Tag Team Turmoil Tournament is officially underway! Right now, I’m looking to get an update on an Elitist who definitely didn’t have the most favorable night on her hands. And it looks like she’s headed out here now!
(The door to the medical room swings open as someone is seen making their way out. Carmen Sánchez is seen clutching the back of her head in pain, with bandages wrapped over her forehead after the brutal punt kick that she received courtesy of Damon Lazarus at the end of their tag team match. She has a pissed off expression on her face, and it certainly isn’t soothed as she glances at Sofia quickly making her way over to her.)
Sofia Clarke: Carmen, I know you’re not in the best of shape right now, but do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions.
Carmen Sánchez: … Sure.
Sofia Clarke: Thank you. First, I’d like to ask you about what happened out there. You teamed with the Specialists Champion Auburn Ware to go up against the team of Damon Lazarus and Saori Aizen, and needless to say, things spilled out near the end there and it ended up being your downfall at the hands of Damon. Do you have any thoughts on it?
(Carmen thinks back on it, and she’s clearly not happy whatsoever. She looks up at Sofia, looking to respond.)
Carmen Sánchez: Es inaceptable. I don’t like being the person who places the blame on their partners, but I’m also not someone who strays away from the truth. Auburn Ware didn’t have her head in the game and that cost us the match. She focused on Saori Aizen and didn’t focus on helping her tag team partner, and I saw it by the look on her face, she didn’t care. I knew walking into this that she would have her mind elsewhere, focused on la romanza rather than anything else in particular. But at the same time, I considered the idea that since she was a Champion, she would be able to put those feelings aside for the good of the order. Clearly… I was wrong. She got in her own way and instead of doing anything about it, she took it out on someone else, she took it out on me. And I’m not just going to stand by and continue to allow this to happen, no, she’s going to get exactly what she deserves.
Sofia Clarke: I expected that. Do you think this stokes the flames heading into your match against her for the Specialists Championship.
Carmen Sánchez: Absolutely. It’s a shame, because if she wasn’t tied up in this, I would’ve had a lot of respect for her. The way that she’s earned her opportunities, how she fought for the Specialists Championship and defended it against the very best, I have mucho respeto para Campeonas asi. But she has gone off the deep end because of Damon Lazarus, she’s mentally fucked up, and it’s either someone does something about it now or else it’s going to be too late by the time they realize. So I had a solution, and the only way that I could do that was by going to Captain Charisma and asking him for a favor.
Sofia Clarke: Oh? Really? And what was that favor?
Carmen Sánchez: I told him that our match for the Specialists Championship couldn’t wait. I wanted it and I wanted it sooner rather than later and that is something that he agreed to. So next week, on Sunday Night Voltage, it will be myself versus Auburn Ware, mano y mano, with the Specialists Championship on the line. Thank you.
(Carmen turns and makes her way out of the scene, leaving Sofia in shock as she turns back toward the camera.)
Sofia Clarke: Well, you heard it here, folks. Next week on Voltage we will have a huge match for the Specialists Championship, and it is not one that you are going to want to miss. Thank you for joining us here on Fight Grid, goodnight.
(The camera then begins to fade to black.)
(Fight Grid logo buzzes.)
