June was one of, if not the biggest month of the year for EAW. This is because of the fact that June was the month Pain for Pride took place, which as always was the biggest event of the entire year! This show had some of the greatest performances and matches of the year so far, and tons of incredible moments came out of this event. One of those events was in the final main event of the show, and it featured June’s Elitist of the Month, Drake King! At Pain for Pride, the EAW World Champion took on his toughest opponent yet, that being Methuselah himself, the same man that gave him the Championship to begin with. This wasn’t an easy task by any means, as Drake and Methuselah would compete in Barbed Wire Massacre IX. Despite this stipulation and the opponent he was up against, Drake would leave that match victorious, retaining his EAW World Championship after picking up the biggest victory of his career. Defeating Methuselah has proven to be an unbelievably difficult task, and doing so in the main event of Pain for Pride just adds to an already special moment. Congratulations to the EAW World Champion Drake King, who leaves Pain for Pride with his first successful Championship defense!
