January marked the beginning of the new year, as well as the second half of the season! Many Elitists promised to make 2023 their year and the first month provided some major opportunities to do this with both the King of Elite and Empress of Elite tournaments! Both of these tournaments featured tons of fantastic performances as everyone involved did their best to make it to the finals of these tournaments that’ll culminate at the first marquee event of the year, including January’s Elitist of the Month, Drake King! Drake’s road to the finals of the King of Elite tournament was by no means easy as every single Elitist he faced was a former World Champion. All three matches leading up to the King of Elite finals were fantastic, which isn’t a surprise knowing that some of the very best were involved. Despite the matches against Myles, Theron Nikolas and TLA all ending in controversial fashion, Drake King would ultimately manage to reach the finals of the tournament just as he wanted, giving him a chance to reach his goal of ruining the King of Elite tournament for everyone else by winning it. The King of Elite finals grants the winner the opportunity to compete for a World Championship, and now Drake is only one match away from potentially having that opportunity.
