August would really get season 20 going, as EAW saw the first three marquee events of the season, all of which were incredible. Showdown’s Midsummer Massacre, Voltage’s Bloodsport and Dynasty’s Reckless Wiring were all incredible displays of what each brand is about, but one of these events featured something that many would say was a very long time coming. The Elitist of the Month for this month is not just one half of the Unified Tag Team Champions, but the woman who gave Hardcore Champion Kai Rabeaux his comeuppance in the most violent way, Dr. Bethany Blue! At Bloodsport, Bethany and TLA defended their titles against the alliance known as the Hegemony, composed of Kai and Drake Armstrong. Now, it is well known the personal history Kai has with Bethany with the loss of her child, and now the retirement of Adam Lucas. At Bloodsport Bethany finally had the chance to face him, and in doing so she went all out, not just retaining the tag titles, but taking an entire chunk of Kai’s finger with her. This was a very personal match for Bethany and with so much at stake there was no telling what’d happen, and in the end nothing was held back, as Bethany proved responsible for one of the most unbelievable moments of the entire year, all while capturing a very well deserved victory!
