(Fight Grid intro plays.)
[SCREENBAR: THE CRYPTO.COM ARENA; POST-VOLTAGE]
(Fight Grid opens up to the cameras showing the backstage area of The Crypto.com Arena, hot off of the curtains closing on another successful episode of Sunday Night Voltage. Although everyone is getting packed up and preparing to leave, one person isn’t. The shot goes to show the door to the locker room bursting wide open and Ryan Wilson walking out of it. After what happened between him and National Elite Champion Donovan Duke earlier in the night with Donovan managing to stand tall off of a brawl between the two, it’s apparent that he’s pissed off right now and is looking for some form of vindication. He storms around the halls of the backstage area, clearly looking for Donovan as he shouts at the top of his lungs.)
Ryan Wilson: DONOVAN, COME ON BUDDY. YOU CAN’T JUST RUN OFF NOW, YOU WERE THE ONE THAT STARTED THIS. WHERE ARE YOU?
(While it’s apparent Ryan was the one pushing the buttons, forcing Donovan over the edge, it’s clear that regardless of who’s in the right or who’s in the wrong Ryan is looking for another fight between the two to make things right. He shakes his head, refusing to believe that Donovan has already left the building, but at the same time beginning to slow down taking that thought into consideration. But his head immediately juts forward upon finding a familiar face waiting near the exit heading towards the parking lot area.)
Ryan Wilson: Ah, Mrs. Duke… a word, please?
(A sadistic grin begins to show on the face of Ryan as he approaches Audrey Duke, the mother of Donovan. Audrey is looking down at the ground with her hands clasped in front of her, sighing upon hearing the all too familiar voice of Ryan as she looks up. It’s apparent she’s waiting for Donovan and his brother Blaine Duke, and the last thing she wants to see is the person that belittled not only her son, but her recently passed husband on live TV. Ryan on the other hand, doesn’t seem to take into consideration if she wants him here or not, instead beginning to speak before she’s able to say anything.
Ryan Wilson: I’d like you to send a message to your baby boy Donovan for me, if you might? Your son, he made a huge mistake making our Pain For Pride match No Holds Barred. With all the rules thrown out the window, he essentially has signed his own death warrant. Now speaking to you, I’ll give you a little suggestion on what to do. You go to the gravesite where your husband is buried, and you get the plot next to it primed and ready for your son to join him-
(Before Ryan can finish what he’s saying, Audrey has had enough and goes to slap Ryan once again in the face! But before she can… Ryan catches her wrist, his smirk continuing to show.)
Ryan Wilson: No, you are not going to put your hands on me again missy.
(SLAP!)
(Ryan uses his other hand to slap Audrey in the face, which knocks her down to the ground. Ryan takes a gander around, before dusting his hands against his shirt, turning around, and walking off from there. Not long afterward the camera goes to show the opposite direction where Ryan has made his leave, with Donovan and Blaine Duke making their way over to the parking area where Audrey is. Donovan has the keys to his car in his hands, but instantly drops them upon seeing his mother on the ground. Both Donovan and Blaine help her back up to her feet, while Audrey rubs her cheek in pain.)
Donovan Duke: What happened???
Audrey Duke: Ryan, he… he slapped me…
(Donovan’s eyes widen upon hearing this, and his breathing becomes heavy.)
Donovan Duke: GODDAMN IT.
(Donovan slams the wall in front of him with his fists before shoving a nearby production cart away from him. He goes batshit in anger before looking around quickly.)
Donovan Duke: Where the fuck did he go.
(Donovan begins to walk away, but before he can Blaine holds out his arm to stop him. Donovan turns to look at both of his family members. Audrey is clearly unhappy about being slapped in the face, and Blaine is pretty upset about the matter too. And while Donovan reciprocates that, it’s apparent that the three of them have a different approach to the situation.)
Audrey Duke: … It isn’t worth it Donovan.
Donovan Duke: What do you mean it’s not worth it??? He just slapped you in the face and walked off and you want him to go scot-free??? Not a chance, I’m sorry.
Blaine Duke: Please Donovan, don’t. He’s not worth going after… What happens if you go looking for him and you end up empty-handed? That’s exactly what he wants, he’s trying to get in your head. Believe me, I want to go after him too, but it’ll do nothing, especially considering this won’t be the last time you see him.
(Donovan looks at Blaine before looking out in the direction he presumes Ryan went. He is still very hesitant, and still wants to take the gamble of hunting him down before it’s too late, and the clock is ticking right now. Before he can do anything though, Audrey picks up the car keys that Donovan dropped and passes them over to him, before taking Donovan’s face in her hands.)
Audrey Duke: Donovan, destroy that motherfucker at Pain For Pride.
(Donovan continues to look at his mother, before nodding his head. He turns his head around one more time before beginning to speak.)
Donovan Duke: You sure you’re okay?
Audrey Duke: I’ll be fine.
Donovan Duke: Good, let’s go…
(Donovan turns and begins to walk towards the parking lot, with both Blaine and Audrey looking at one another before following in suit. It’s the last shot seen before from there, the camera then begins to fade to a complete black.)
