(EAW intro plays)
(Showdown opens up with the recap of the show last week. Kennedy Street welcomes in the new season, yet again with Silas Mason interrupting but Kennedy shuts his bullshit down, finally showing him that after all of his attempts, he remains powerless, Silas World has gone down in members, and he is going to face every consequence from what he has done. Silas goes quiet and leaves, contemplating all of this. The match between the Adonis Brothers and Ryan and Vincent ends in a no contest as all four brawl wildly with security coming in to hold them off. Jon Kelton has an interview with Kyra Phillips as he talks about Bronson and season 20, Silas, desperate, tries to talk business with him but Pandora intervenes and shuts him down, Damien and Halsey come in after to back up Pandora, as all four after greet each other in quite a friendly way. The new debutant Sofia Drakos defeats a local competitor. Akari Kiyoko comes on to talk about his journey here and his new chapter as National Elite Champion, he challenges the roster to face him, with Clayton Golde and Mia Santoro both answering it, they come to blows and Mia stands tall over the two of them. Diego and Circe cause mischief on their first day, provoking the Adonis Brothers, KELIN and Tafae Toa, with them being laid out by these last two. Wynter Kurayami defeats Tafae Toa and Trae Brooks, with Tafae snapping and laying out both of his opponents after the match. Milli comes to talk out about her loss and what is next for her, with Pandora for some reason coming out, she sympathizes with her and after everything they went through and what their men did to each other, they can be on the same page. Milli is hesitant though after what Pandora did to Veena. Pandora nods, accepting it… before she attacks her. Veena comes to the rescue, but Kelton appears too to back up Pandora, as Veena and Milli from the cheap shot, challenges them two to a tag match at Midsummer Massacre. In the main event, Rex McAllister defeats Cody Maverick after some help from El Duque, with El Duque laying Cody out after the match. In the closing segment, Joso explains himself and his actions, provoking the crowd, talking about how Minerva helped him see what he needed to do, to change and evolve to get back on the top. Bea comes out livid, confused, and in a short time, they come to blows. Kennedy comes out to stop that, as she announces the two of them will face each other in a Steel Cage match for their troubles.)
(The recap ends, and it is replaced with the song “Brick Wall” by a Day to Remember, as the camera pans around the inside of State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Fireworks shoot out of the entrance stage as the camera pans around the excited crowd cheering loudly. The camera ends up panning over to the commentary table with Deadprez, Gavin Kirkland and Sienna Swann, as they eventually speak up.)
Deadprez: WELCOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! TO SATURDAY NIGHT SHOWDOWN! OH YEAH, DAWG! We are now on the roll of a new season, and our first event on our roster is none other than Midsummer Massacre! With weeks to get there, and many wrestlers wanting to make their mark, we have an action packed show tonight for y’all!
Sienna Swann: Correct, sweetie! We will see Grace de Luca against Mia Santoro, we will see Circe and Diego Montana in action, Damien Kutcher going up against El Duque and a big time main event, can they co-exist?! As Joso and Bea Valentine team up to fight against Veena Adams and Jon Kelton!
Gavin Kirkland: LET’S NOT WASTE ANYMORE TIME, LET’S OPEN UP WITH THE KING OF ELITE HIMSELF, CODYYYY MAVERIIICKKK!!!
(The camera shot transitions from the commentary table to the entrance ramp as ‘Kostas’ by Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine & Benny the Butcher starts to play. Seconds later, the crowd starts to cheer for the entrance of Cody Maverick. Most days, he is in a pretty good mood. Tonight, not so much. He does nod to the crowd in respect before heading right to the ring.)
Gina Romano: Ladies and gentlemen! At this time, please welcome “THE SIN CITY SUPERSTAR” CODY MAVERICK!!
Deadprez: Here comes the reigning King of Elite, Cody Maverick, and last week was his return as an official member of the Showdown roster but it was unfortunately not the exact return he was wanting.
Gavin Kirkland: What Prezzy means is that last week on Showdown, Cody was going one on one with Rex McAllister. Cody seemingly had the match in hand before El Duque of all people showed up and clocked Cody in the head leading to Rex picking up the victory.
Sienna Swann: Then after the match, El Duque proceeded to drop Cody on his head again with that piledriver of his. Sweeties, Cody does not look happy and he no doubt is going to have something to say to El Duque about all of this. Let’s see what he has to say.
(Cody has grabbed a microphone from Gina as he rolls into the ring. The crowd is still cheering as Cody’s entrance music fades off. Cody listens to the crowd’s cheers for a few moments longer before they die down and he begins to speak.)
Cody Maverick: I am honestly just going to cut right to the chase. I’m pissed. I’m VERY pissed off about all the crap that went down last week and most of you know exactly what that is. For the ones who didn’t get a chance to see last week’s Showdown, allow me to explain.
Cody Maverick: Last week was my first match back as an official member of the Showdown roster. I was competing against the legendary Rex McAllister in what was an amazing match, but it all was ruined by some crazy person in a mask.
Cody Maverick: Look, I don’t know what in the hell El Donny Duque’s problem is, but he had absolutely no business coming out to the ring and attacking me like he did last week.
(Cody still looks very annoyed about El Duque interfering in his match last week, but cooler heads are prevailing as Cody keeps himself in check as starts to speak again.)
Cody Maverick: So, El Duque. How about you own up to what you did last week and come to the ring and we can settle this like men.
(The crowd is cheering at the challenge as Cody keeps watch up the entrance ramp for the arrival of El Duque, but the cheers quickly turn to boos as Silas Mason comes on the entrance stage with a microphone in hand.)
Sienna Swann: Well, sweeties watching at home, if you choose to change the channel, I won’t blame you because even we here at the commentary desk are tired of hearing Silas Mason too. At least you get the luxury of a remote control.
Deadprez: Silas Mason certainly had a lot to think about last week after he confronted General Manager Kennedy Street in the ring. I don’t know about you, dawg, but I think what Kennedy had to say hit close to home.
Gavin Kirkland: I have no idea what you are talking about, Prezzy, but Silas Mason is out here as he is no doubt representing the masked member of Silas World in El Duque, but let’s hear what Silas has to say.
(Silas has a smirk on his face as he looks down the ramp at Cody in the ring. Silas doesn’t even bother waiting for the crowd to die down because he knows they won’t for some reason. Either way, Silas is done waiting and starts to speak.)
Silas Mason: Cody. Cody. Cody. Silly silly boy. Thinking he can come out to the ring and try to do things with a member of Silas World on his time? That’s very cute because you know damn well that anything involving Silas World is on MY time. Not YOURS!
Silas Mason: I understand that things can get a little complicated for you when things don’t go your way… like your match last week. Don’t worry. There’s always next time or the time after that.
(Silas has a smile on his face and Cody does not look the slightest bit amused.)
Silas Mason: Ladies and gentlemen! Allow me to introduce to all of you… THE KING OF THE LUCHADORES! EL REY DE LOS LUCHADORES!! ELLLLLLLLLL DUQUE!!!
(“Natural” by Imagine Dragons starts to play as the crowd starts booing even louder as the masked “wonder” El Duque comes out onto the entrance stage and stands next to Silas Mason as he embraces the reaction of the crowd because he thinks they love him.)
Gavin Kirkland: Can you believe this? El Duque can count his matches on one hand and he is already being declared the King of the Luchadores!! This young competitor is on his way to superstardom.
Sienna Swann: Sweetie, what needs to be done is that the staff psychiatrist needs to up Donovan’s dosage because those meds he’s on right now are not working.
Gavin Kirkland: Oh, come on, we all know that Donovan Duke is not El Duque. That is completely obvious.
Deadprez: Of for the love of… nevermind. Regardless, El Duque is the reason that Cody did not win the first Showdown main event of the season for whatever reason is floating through that screwball head of his. Let’s just hear what he has to say.
(The crowd is still booing El Duque, even after he has finished a little showboating for the crowd. Silas smiles and pats El Duque on the shoulder as El Duque’s music fades off and he begins to speak.)
El Duque: That’s right, people. You did not mishear Silas. Yours truly, ELLLLLL DUQUE, is REAL King of the Luchadores!! Qué logro monumental en mi carrera.
El Duque: Now the EAW fans have a king who can live up to the hype. Who can live up to the expectations and can live up to the level of talent that a king should have who you all can look up to and respect. Not like the BASURA royalty that infests EAW today.
(Cody rolls his eyes after listening to El Duque talk up his own hype.)
Cody Maverick: Come on! You are absolutely losing it, Donovan. You are talking like you are crazy even though we all knew you were crazy before this.
El Duque: First off, I am not Donovan. Secondly, I am not crazy. I am of sane mind and intelligence.
Cody Maverick: Of course you are. But you certainly were very sane when you came out and attacked me last week.
El Duque: No me extraña que Donovan pensara que eras un verdadero fastidio. Escucharte hablar puede volver loca a cualquier persona.
Cody Maverick: Who are you fooling? We all know who El Duque is. Speaking halfway decent Spanish doesn’t change the fact that you are a screwball from Oklahoma. We know your name is Donovan. At least I won at Pain for Pride unlike you did.
El Duque: Estás lleno de tonterías. No wonder you couldn’t win against Rex because there is no chance you could ever hold a candle to the likes of Donovan Duke. Dios te bendiga.
(Cody has had enough and immediately changes the subject.)
Cody Maverick: Alright alright alright. I have had enough of this. You might be having fun with all of this, but I have an idea that you might find fun as well.
El Duque: ¿Oh sí? What do you have in mind?
Cody Maverick: How about we finish this at Midsummer Massacre? You against me? How about it?
(The crowd is cheering at the challenge as Silas and El Duque are talking amongst themselves at the top of the ramp before El Duque responds.)
El Duque: ¡Está bien! Acepto tu desafío. But I will accept the challenge on one condition.
Cody Maverick: What is that?
El Duque: Nosotros podemos tener el partido en la Masacre de Verano… but I will only do it in a MEXICAN LUCHA RULES MATCH!
(Cody thinks about the stipulation that El Duque wants. He doesn’t care for the stipulation, but if it means that he gets his hands on this nutcase, he’ll deal with it.)
Cody Maverick: Fine with me! You got it. I’ll see you at Midsummer Massacre.
(Cody tosses down his microphone as the crowd cheers and the now opponents have locked eyes.)
Sienna Swann: Well there you have it, sweeties, it’s going to be Cody Maverick and El Duque at Midsummer Massacre… in a Mexican Lucha Rules match? What the hell is that?
Gavin Kirkland: I mean we will find out all the technicalities of the match in the coming weeks, but what a match this is going to be. A first time ever match between these two coming up.
Deadprez: I mean these two have… oh forget it. Two high level talents will be competing in Showdown’s possibly first ever Mexican Lucha Rules match. Regardless of personality or sanity level, this is going to be a hell of match that could steal the show. Anyways, after the break, we will have our opening contest of Saturday Night Showdown.
(The final shot shows both Cody and El Duque smiling and staring each other down as Silas pats El Duque on the back as the camera shot fades elsewhere.)
Gina Romano: THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL…
(‘DICTATOR’ by REI AMI. The cheers from the fans quickly switch out to loud boos and they get louder at the sight of Mia Santoro making her way out from backstage and walking down the ramp, keeping a confident look on her face as she approaches the ring.)
Gina Romano: INTRODUCING FIRST! FROM KEY WEST, FLORIDA! WEIGHTING IN AT 115 POUNDS! “LA DESPERADAAAAAAA”…MIAAAAAAA SANTOROOOOOO!
(‘Genie In A Bottle’ by Christina Aguilera hits and Grace struts out onto the stage with a smug confidence written all over her face. She pauses at the top of the ramp, placing a hand on her hip while looking out at the crowd with an unimpressed expression. Grace slowly brushes her hair back and rolls her eyes at the boos from the audience before beginning her walk down the ramp. Every few steps she throws out a dismissive wave toward the crowd.)
Gina Romano: AND HER CHALLENGER, FROM LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, WEIGHTING IN AT 121 POUNDS…GRACE DE LUCA!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Gavin Kirkland: Two of the most conniving, calculating women on this entire roster standing across from each other tonight and with National Elite Champion Akari Kiyoko and Clayton Golde both watching from ringside this match!
Deadprez: Grace De Luca and Mia Santoro, neither one of them has ever met a rulebook they respected and tonight we get to find out what happens when two women who will do absolutely anything to win have to do it to each other!
Sienna Swann: The crowd has nobody to root for just two very dangerous women who want to win and will absolutely not care how they get there.
(Grace and Mia circle each other slowly, both taking their time, neither wanting to be the first to overcommit. Grace smiles and waved at the booing crowd.)
Gavin Kirkland: Mia Santoro with her eyes locked on Grace and nothing else while Grace is already playing to her audience at ringside!
Deadprez: That could be a problem for Grace if she isn’t careful! Mia is not going to wait around while she plays with the attendance—
(Mia shoots forward suddenly with an arm drag that takes Grace completely by surprise, transitioning smoothly into a grounded wristlock before Grace can process what just happened!)
Sienna Swann: Mia established that technical edge immediately and Grace did not see that coming at all!
Gavin Kirkland: Grace trying to work her way free, rolling her body, but Mia rolls right with her keeping that wrist locked in tight! Grace finally grabs the bottom rope and the referee calls for the break!
Deadprez: Mia releases cleanly but steps right back on Grace the second the break is called, grabbing her by the arm and whipping her across the ring! Grace rebounds and Mia drops her with a leg sweep that puts her flat on her face!
Gavin Kirkland: Grace trying to get back up immediately and she does not look happy! She charges at Mia— Mia sidesteps, grabbing the back of her head and driving her face first into the turnbuckle!
Sienna Swann: Grace stumbles out of the corner and Mia catches her with a forearm smash to the back of the head making her drop down down to one knee!
(Mia pulls Grace up and hooks her— SAITO SUPLEX that launches Grace across the ring! Grace rolls to her side clutching her neck and Mia immediately covers!)
ONE!
Deadprez: Grace kicks out and immediately rolls toward the ropes, creating distance and buying herself a moment to breathe.
Gavin Kirkland: Grace using the ropes to pull herself up and as the referee steps between them but Mia is getting impatient, shoving the referee out the way— ALLOWING GRACE TO POKE HER IN THE EYES!
Sienna Swann: Oh my, I don’t think the referee saw that! Mia stumbles back clutching her eye and Grace is immediately on her— GRABBING THE HEAD AND PUSHING OFF THE CORNER WITH A TORNADO DDT! She spiked Mia right into the canvas and now Grace is going for a cover!
ONE!
Gavin Kirkland: Mia kicks out and Grace immediately grabs her by the hair, pulling her up and driving a knee lift right into her face! Mia drops to her knees and Grace charges off the ropes— BASEMENT FRONT DROPKICK right to the face of Mia!
Deadprez: Grace finding her rhythm now after that early scramble! She hooks the leg again!
ONE!
TWO!!
Sienna Swann: Mia kicks out again and Grace is already arguing with the referee! She is not happy with how slow she thinks that hand is hitting the mat!
Grace De Luca (off mic): You officials can never do your job right, who even trains you? I swear I can do your job better in my sleep!
(That distraction is enough for Mia to recover and fire an enziguri that catches Grace right across the side of the skull!)
Gavin Kirkland: MIA WITH THE ENZIGURI! Grace goes down and Mia is back on her feet, shaking off the cobwebs!
Deadprez: Mia grabs Grace and fires a series of open palm strikes before whipping her into the corner! She charges in with a high knee that crushes Grace against the turnbuckles before pulling her out— AND HITS A MASSIVE EXPLODER SUPLEX!
Sienna Swann: Mia Santoro reminding everyone in this building that she is every bit as capable, that’s what I like to see, sweetie! Mia drops into a cover, hooking the leg!
ONE!
TWO!!
Gavin Kirkland: Grace gets the shoulder up— But Mia transitions immediately, grabbing the arm and locking in an ARM TRIANGLE CHOKE right in the center of the ring!
Deadprez: MIA GOING FOR THE SUBMISSION! She has Grace perfectly positioned and that choke hold is locked in tight! You can already see Grace’s race turning red.
Sienna Swann: Grace is reaching for the ropes but she is nowhere near them right now! Mia has her right where she wants her!
(Grace claws at Mia’s arm desperately before suddenly grabbing a handful of Mia’s hair and YANKING her sideways, breaking the hold!)
Mia Santoro (off mic): SON OF A BITCH!
Gavin Kirkland: Hair pull! Not the cleanest way of escape but definitely efficient, Grace is able to finally get some air into her lungs!
Deadprez: Grace rolls free and immediately hammers her fist down on Mia before she can recover! She grabs Mia’s arm and drives a knee right into her abdomen! Grace quickly picks her up into a SPINNING BACK SUPLEX!
Sienna Swann: Grace De Luca finding every shortcut available to her in order to throw Mia off her game! It is working out perfectly!
(Grace hooks both legs, planting her feet on the ropes for extra leverage the moment the referee’s back is turned!)
ONE!
TWO!!
THREEE—
Gavin Kirkland: THE REFEREE SEES IT! He catches Grace using the ropes and stops the count!
Grace De Luca (off mic): WAIT! I didn’t even see my foot on the rope! It was a mistake I promise!
Deadprez: The referee not buying a single word of it and now Grace is getting in his face!
Grace De Luca (off mic): YOU SUCK! YOU SUCK AT YOUR JOB! TAKE OFF THAT UNIFORM AND BURN IT!
(Akari Kiyoko watches all of this from ringside with a look of complete bewilderment on his face.)
Akari Kiyoko (off mic): Wow…Grace is crazy.
Grace De Luca (off mic): I HEARD THAT AKARI! I AM NOT CRAZY! THIS REFEREE IS JUST AN IDIOT!
(While Grace is occupied yelling at Akari, Mia rolls her up from behind!)
ONE!
TWO!!
THREEEE—
Gavin Kirkland: GRACE KICKS OUT! Mia almost stole it right there while Grace was too busy complaining!
Deadprez: Both women scramble back to their feet and immediately go for SUPERKICKS! Both connecting at the exact same time and both going down! These women do not stay down for long, they stir at the same time, neither wanting to give the other the advantage of being first to their feet! Mia gets up a fraction of a second quicker and immediately charges— AND HITS THE KILLING MOON! The rolling wheel kick catches Grace clean across the jaw and she goes down hard!
Gavin Kirkland: Mia Santoro connects with that rolling wheel kick out of nowhere and Grace is absolutely flattened! Mia into the cover and this could be what ends this match!
ONE!
TWO!!
THREEE—
Sienna Swann: Grace kicks out but Mia is already moving, pulling her back up and hooking her arm— “BLACKEST HOUR”! THE SWINGING FISHERMAN NECKBREAKER SLAMS GRACE INTO THE CANVAS!
Gavin Kirkland: MIA GOING FOR ANOTHER THIS ONE COULD ACTUALLY DO IT!
ONE!
TWO!!
THREEEE—
Deadprez: GRACE GETS THE SHOULDER UP! Mia cannot believe it!
(Mia slaps the mat once in frustration before pulling herself together and quickly going to drag Grace back up to her feet!)
Sienna Swann: Mia is building something here and Grace needs to find an answer immediately or this match is going to slip away from her!
(Mia goes for the superkick to the knee but Grace scouts it and grabs Mia’s foot before it connects, spinning her around and DRIVING her face first into the canvas with a facebuster!)
Gavin Kirkland: GRACE SCOUTS IT! Beautiful awareness from Grace De Luca to avoid that combination and now she has Mia right where she wants her!
Deadprez: Grace grabbing Mia by the hair and pulling her up before HITTING HER WITH A DISRESPECTFUL SLAP right across her face!
Sienna Swann: That was personal, sweetie. A slap like that is something you do to humiliate your opponent.
(Mia’s head snaps sideways from the slap and Grace immediately follows with a DISCUS CLOTHESLINE! “GRACE-FUL CLOTHESLINE” turning Mia inside out! Grace drops down and hooks both legs deep!)
ONE!
TWO!
THREEEE—
Gavin Kirkland: MIA KICKS OUT! Grace cannot believe it and it looks like Clayton Golde is even losing his mind at ringside! Do you think he has a parlay on Grace?
Clayton Golde: (off-mic) COUNT FASTER! WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT THERE!
Grace De Luca (off mic): Thank you! I’m glad someone has some sense.
Akari Kiyoko (off mic): Clayton why didn’t you shut up and let the match play out.
Clayton Golde (off mic): Oh shut up Akari, I can do and say whatever I want. Freedom of Speech, right?
Deadprez: Clayton seems to be getting on Akari nerves, no surprise in the at sentence! But it seems like Akari and Clayton arguing is getting the attention of the referee, who is trying to make sure this conflict doesn’t interfere with that match. And it looks like…Grace is using this distraction to reach into her gear and pull something out!
Sienna Swann: What is she hiding in there? I think those are brass knuckles?!
(Grace moves toward Mia with the brass knuckles in her fist but Akari Kiyoko suddenly points it out and gets the referee’s attention back to the ring! The referee spins around and Grace immediately shoves whatever she had back into her gear, looking completely innocent!)
Gavin Kirkland: AKARI ALERTING THE REFEREE! He just prevented Grace from doing something potentially very nasty right there!
Deadprez: Grace shooting daggers at Akari from across the ring! She is absolutely furious that he just cost her that opportunity to possibly put a bow on this match!
Clayton Golde (off mic): Way to go, you just had to snitch on Grace? Don’t tell me you have some crush on Mia, what a dork!
Akari Kiyoko (off mic): I want to see what she can do in the ring, can’t get the full evaluation if Grace is taking shortcuts.
Clayton Golde (off mic): Yeah whatever nerd.
Sienna Swann: Mia used that momentary distraction to recover! She is back on her feet and Grace doesn’t even know it yet! Grace turns back toward Mia— “WOLFSBANE”! THE SPRINGBOARD CUTTER CONNECTS OUT OF NOWHERE AND GRACE IS FLOORED!
Gavin Kirkland: MIA GETS ALL OF THAT AND HOOKS THE LEG FOR THE COVER THIS COULD BE ALL SHE WROTE!
ONE!
TWO!!
THREEEE!!!
Deadprez: GRACE GETS THE FOOT ON THE ROPE AT THE ABSOLUTE LAST SECOND!
Sienna Swann: She was moment away from ending this match, but Grace manages to once again luck out and keep the match going. Mia is not going to stop, she pulls Grace away from the ropes and goes to climb to the second rope, Grace leaning upward she doesn’t know what’s going on— METEORA CONNECTS FLUSH! Grace’s body folds underneath the impact and Mia bridges into the cover!
ONE!
TWO!!
THREEEE—
Deadprez: GRACE ROLLS HER SHOULDER UP AGAIN! Grace refuses to let this match end and both of these women are showing incredible resilience despite everything they have thrown at each other tonight!
Gavin Kirkland: Mia getting back to her feet, and she is pointing to the top rope, and I think we know what is coming next!
Sienna Swann: Mia is going up top and if she connects with “CHASE THE FEELING” this match is over! I can guarantee that!
(Mia climbs to the top rope, steadying herself as Grace lies motionless below her. She leaps for the “CHASE THE FEELING”! DIVING LEGDROP—)
Deadprez: GRACE ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY! MIA CRASHES INTO NOTHING BUT CANVAS!
Gavin Kirkland: MIA MISSED IT! She is clutching her leg after that landing and Grace is back to her feet, barely standing but still on her feet!
Sienna Swann: These are the moments Grace waits for! She sees Mia down and she is not wasting a single second! Grace grabs Mia and hooks her into— THE PERFECTION PLEX! THE TWISTING BRAINBUSTER DRIVES MIA INTO THE CANVAS AND GRACE COVERS!
ONE!
TWO!
THREEEE!!!
Deadprez: MIA MANAGES TO STILL KICK OUT! SOMEHOW MIA KICKS OUT OF THE PERFECTION PLEX!
Gavin Kirkland: Grace is absolutely beside herself! She cannot understand what she has to do to put Mia Santoro away tonight!
Sienna Swann: Both of these women have pulled out everything that they have and neither one will stay down! But I feel like there is still something else they can pull out to end this match.
Deadprez: And I think Grace is looking for it now, stepping back into the corner and measuring Mia who is trying to pick herself back up to her feet— SHE IS GOING FOR THE BITTERSWEET CHIN MUSIC!
Gavin Kirkland: GRACE IS LOOKING TO PUT AN END TO THIS MATCH— NO WAIT! MIA CATCHES THE LEG! SPINNING HER AROUND! SANTORO KICKS THE LEG OUT FROM UNDERNEATH HER! FOLLOWS UP WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK!
Deadprez: “TWO FOR THE ROAD”! MIA IS BACK IN THIS MATCH AND IS BACKING INTO THE CORNER! SHE IS LOOKING FOR “ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE”—
(Clayton moves to the apron looking to distract Mia, but Akari quickly grabs him and forces him back!)
Clayton Golde (off mic): Oh, here we go again with your white knight bullshit! She is our opponent! You’re an idiot if you think I’m not going to—
Akari Kiyoko (off mic): CAN YOU SHUT UP! Stop making everything about yourself and stay out of the match!
Clayton Golde (off mic): …Fine.
(As Akari goes back to watching the match, Clayton STRIKES him in the back of the head! Sending him down! Taking the Championship from his shoulder. He then calls out to Mia Santoro.)
Clayton Golde (off mic): Hey Mia! A little spoiler for you!
Sienna Swann: Despite Akari’s effort, Clayton has still found a way to get involved in this match! I guess nothing can stop him from being annoying.
Gavin Kirkland: WAIT! WATCH OUT! GRACE ROLLS HER UP! MIA IS STRUGGLING TO GET OUT OF IT AS THE REFEREE SLIDES IN TO COUNT IT!
ONE!
TWO!!
Deadprez: LOOK! GRACE GRABBING A HANDFUL OF SHORTS! THE OFFICIAL DOESN’T SEE IT!
THREEEEEEEEE!!!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Gina Romano: HERE IS YOUR WINNER…GRACE DE LUCA!
(As soon as her name was announced, she scrambles out of the ring and drops to the floor! She celebrated frantically as she ran up the ramp, Mia is in the ring completely awestruck. All the while Clayton Golde was laughing hysterically!)
Gavin Kirkland: Looks like Clayton got the last laugh on both Mia and Akari, let’s see if he could do the same—
Deadprez: OH! AKARI OUT OF NO WHERE WITH THE “PEACH DREAM”! A CLAYMORE DROPPING CLAYTON AND NOW HE IS RAINING DOWN PUNCHES ON CLAYTON!
Sienna Swann: He absolutely deserves this and worse! And look even Mia is going outside to get her some action!
(Mia SHOVES Akari off of Clayton!)
Mia Santoro (off mic): GET OUT OF MY WAY! HE IS MINE! AFTER I AM DONE WITH HIM I’M GOING TO BEST YOUR ASS TOO!
(Mia proceeds to stomp on Clayton and kick him while he was defenseless on the ground)
Gavin Kirkland: AKARI WITH A “PEACH DREAM” AGAIN ON! TAKING MIA OUT AS WELL! I guess he had enough, with this match over there is no need to be friendly.
(Akari grabs his Championship and holds it in the air, the crowd cheers as the scene fades on his triumphant smile.)
(We have returned from commercial break and the shot is in General Manager Kennedy Street’s office. Kennedy is reading paperwork and is in her own world as she is finishing up a phone call.)
Kennedy Street: That is exactly what Kennie wanted to hear. Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate–
(CRASH!)
(Kennedy is startled by the sound of something crashing against the wall to the point that she almost drops her phone. Now Kennedy looks annoyed as she returns to her phone call.)
Kennedy Street: Yeah, Kennie is going to have to call you back because it sounds like something is about to get heated. Oh yeah. Thank you. Buh bye.
(Kennedy ends her call as sees the door to her office thrown open and one of her pictures knocked crooked due to the force of the door being thrown open and Kennedy looks a little pissed.)
Kennedy Street: What in the hell was that?
????: MS. STREET!!!!!!!!!!
(Kennedy looks around wondering who in the hell is yelling in her office as she finally sees who busts in her office… GRACE DE LUCA! Grace has a towel on her shoulder and a bottle of water in her left hand as she just finished her match moments ago. Grace also has a scowl on her face making it obvious she is in a bad mood. Well, so is Kennedy right now after hearing that stunt Grace pulled. But Kennedy is a professional and she is able to compose herself by taking a deep breath.)
Kennedy Street: Grace De Luca. It’s a pleasure to see you as always. Great performance out there in your match earlier.
(Grace’s bad mood turns into completely pissed off as she looks like she is going to go ballistic on Kennedy.)
Grace De Luca: Are you seriously not going to do anything?
Kennedy Street: Anything about what?
Grace De Luca: I just won! Soooo…. I want my shot!!
Kennedy Street: A shot at what, honey?
Grace De Luca: A SHOT AT GOLD, MS. STREET!! I WANT MY SHOT!! I am so sick and so tired of taking a backseat to all these other people when I am no doubt very deserving of a shot of my own. The 24/7 Battle Royal didn’t go my way, but I have been passed by numerous times. Don’t you think that I deserve a shot, Ms. Street?
(Kennedy looks at Grace, who still looks pissed off, and takes what she says under consideration because Grace might have a point somewhere within her whining and screaming and complaining.)
Kennedy Street: While Kennie appreciates you coming in and voicing your grievances and concerns, let’s get a few things straight, alright?
Grace De Luca: Umm… ok? Does that mean I am getting a title shot?
Kennedy Street: What that means is that you are going to be quiet and listen to what I have to say. First off, never and I mean NEVER bust into Kennie’s office like you did earlier, honey. This is your first and your last warning. Is that understood?
(Grace doesn’t say anything and simply nods.)
Kennedy Street: Good. Secondly, Grace honey, you better buckle up because there is a new wave of talent here on the Showdown roster this season and they are all looking for opportunities. From what Kennie has seen, they all look like they are going to pass you by, Grace.
(Grace looks like she is walking a fine line between either crying or turning into a huge Karen after hearing Kennedy’s response to her request.)
Grace De Luca: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Nobody is going to be passing Grace De Luca by. I am the star of Showdown, and everybody knows it.
(While Grace is throwing a Karen-like tantrum, there is a knock on the door and somehow, Kennedy actually hears it over Grace’s whining. Kennedy looks over and sees Wynter Kurayami entering her office with a smile on face and almost bouncing on her heels as Kennedy acknowledges Wynter’s presence.)
Kennedy Street: What can Kennie do for you, Wynter?
Wynter Kurayami: Ms. Street, I wanted to spare a few moments of your time and sincerely thank you for the opportunity to compete on Showdown last week, it was an honor.
(Kennedy was about to reply, but Wynter does a little walk around the office. All with the same smile on her face. Grace is kind of weirded out, but more annoyed with the fact that she is being ignored.)
Kennedy Street: About time somebody comes into Kennie’s office with some manners. Well, Wynter, it was certainly my pleasure. You had an amazing performance last week and Kennie was very impressed.
(Wynter still has a smile on her face as she nods in respect to Kennedy… and bouncing on her feet.)
Wynter Kurayami: I did come in here for one more thing, Ms. Street. I would also appreciate the opportunity to compete at Midsummer Massacre.
(Kennedy is about to respond to Wynter as we see Trae Brooks come into the office as Grace is still pouting and Wynter gives him a look and still has that smile on her face. Trae gives Wynter a “what the hell” type of look before turning his attention to Kennedy.)
Trae Brooks: I am sorry for intruding on… whatever this is going on right now.
Kennedy Street: Don’t worry about it. Kennie is used to chaos like this. What can Kennie help you with Trae?
Trae Brooks: Oh yeah. I did come in here to ask for a chance to compete at Midsummer Massacre, but there is something that I need to address first.
(Kennedy nods as Trae turns his attention back to Wynter, who STILL has that smile on her face. Wynter is starting to walk around again and Trae stops her.)
Trae Brooks: Hold on a second, Wynter. I need to say something.
(Wynter nods politely, but still smiles, and is bouncing on her feet again as she is ready to hear what Trae has to say.)
Trae Brooks: Look, Wynter. I am not exactly happy that I lost in my Showdown debut, but it is what it is. I give you all the props in the world for last week, but let’s be honest. You got lucky. And one on one? I know that you can’t replicate that.
(Trae has a smile on her face that is less creepy than Wynter’s but the two competitors have locked eyes.)
Wynter Kurayami: Well, okay then. I guess we will see about that.
(Trae is about to say something, but his words get caught in his throat as Sofia Drakos walks into Kennedy’s office. Sofia doesn’t say a word yet, but she has this presence that forces everyone in the room to turn their heads and look at her. Meanwhile, Kennedy shakes her head and addresses the new person in her office.)
Kennedy Street: Well, Sofia. What can I do for you?
(Sofia simply looks down at Kennedy before answering Kennedy.)
Sofia Drakos: I deserve a chance to compete at Midsummer Massacre.
(Kennedy nods and Sofia looks like she is about to say something, but Grace stomps into the middle of the pack and starts flailing her arms almost like she is trying to fly.)
Grace De Luca: No no no no no no no NO!!! I am sick and tired of all this crap!! This was supposed to be MY time to talk to Ms. Street. NOT YOURS!! Why is that so hard for you all to understand? What you all need to do is GET OUT AND LET ME TALK TO MS. STREET ALONE!! MOVE ALONG! SEE YA! GO! GET! SCRAM!
(Kennedy has had enough of Grace’s screaming and finally interjects herself into the conversation.)
Kennedy Street: Alright! Kennie has had enough of the screaming and all the interruptions so this is what I am going to do.
(Kennedy looks at all the competitors, and quickly scans by Wynter and her creepy smile, before she continues with what she has to say.)
Kennedy Street: Since all of you, in your own personal manners, have all wanted an opportunity for more. Well, Kennie is in the giving spirit and she wants to continue the reputation of Showdown being the brand of opportunity. So at Midsummer Massacre, all four of you will be in action.
(All four competitors are silent as they wonder what Kennedy has in mind.)
Kennedy Street: At Midsummer Massacre, it’s going to be Sofia Drakos versus Trae Brooks versus Wynter Kuraymai versus Grace De Luca… IN AN ELIMINATION MATCH!! Whoever the last competitor standing is will have earned themself a shot at the NEW BREED CHAMPIONSHIP!
(All four competitors look at one another, until Grace absolutely loses it.)
Grace De Luca: A FOUR WAY MATCH!?!? I SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN A TITLE SHOT? NOW I HAVE TO DO THIS?!?!? THIS ISN’T FAIR!!!
Kennedy Street: Well, that’s my decision.
(Grace lets out a very loud scream of frustration as she storms out of the office and slams the door. Meanwhile, the other three competitors look pleased with the decision.)
Wynter Kurayami: I appreciate the opportunity, Ms. Street.
Trae Brooks: This works for me.
Sofia Drakos: I approve of this decision.
(The final shot shows the three competitors looking at one another as Kennedy looks pleased now as the camera shot fades elsewhere.)
(The camera cuts backstage to the backstage area where Mikaela Street is shown accompanied by two security guards.)
Mikaela Street: Ladies and gentlemen at this time I am about to conduct an interview with a man who has been said to be too dangerous to be allowed in EAW. I have been advised by management against conducting this interview, but I feel that it is my duty as a journalist to do so and to bring you all the answers. Such is my commitment to my job. Now at this time please welcome my guest… Tafae Toa.
(Tafae Toa enters scowling as he stares down Mikaela Street with rage. However, the security guards step between him and the interviewer who confidently steps up to him to conduct the interview.)
Mikaela Street: Tafae… You are now in EAW. And you have already made a big splash. But the people want to kn-
Tafae Toa: MIKAELA! Last week there were some pussy ass fools who wanted to fuck with me! But they got fucked with! EAW wants to try and hold me back, but I am on the warpath now and cannot be stopped!
Mikaela Street: So, does that mean that after last week you still intend to continue the fight that you were stopped from conducting last week?
Tafae Toa: That fight wasn’t over Mikaela. I got stopped in my tracks. A very foolish and shortsighted decision made by EAW security to not let me do whatever the fuck I want. Cuz last week some lil haters wanted to play. But they are gonna get beaten down. It’s on sight with me Mikaela. It’s on sight.
???: YEET!
???: On sight yo? We see you uce!
(The Jones Brothers enter with Artemis holding his hand out sideways and dramatically for Tafae Toa to give him five but it is not reciprocated. Adonis Jones has a large smile on his face as he gets up close to Tafae Toa.)
Adonis Jones: We feel you uce! We feel you!
Artemis Jones: We do! Throw up the ones!
(The Jones Brothers throw up the ones but Tafae Toa only looks to be made angrier by this.)
Adonis Jones: You gotta chill out uce! We are here for you! We brothers and we gotta stick together!
Artemis Jones: YEET!
Adonis Jones: We feel you! What happened was real messed up! It was some rancid type shit if ya feel me!
Artemis Jones: YEET!
Adonis Jones: We gotta stick together. Uces for life! Uces forever!
Tafae Toa: I don’t want to hear it! Y’all annoying and best get out my face!
Artemis Jones: WHOAWHOAWHOA!
Adonis Jones: Chill out uce. No need for such hostility! We are here as your backup! Let’s roll together! We can take Circe and Diego Montana downtown to the Jones Penitentiary!
Tafae Toa: …
Adonis Jones: Is that a yeet yeet?
(Tafae Toa turns around to leave.)
Artemis Jones: Hey man…
Adonis Jones: Hol up! Hol up! Hol up!
(The Jones Brothers run around to the other side of Tafae Toa to stop him from leaving. Tafae looks like he is about to assault them and veins are literally bulging out of his forehead as he attempts to restrain himself.)
Artemis Jones: Look uce. There’s a whole lot that can happen if you don’t have backup. I understand. You a big dawg. You rollin’ solo. I respect that. Do you respect that uce?
Adonis Jones: I respect that.
Artemis Jones: He respects that! Besides… it’s not just Diego and Circe. Kelin is lookin’ for yo ass too! He is a big ass mafaka!
Adonis Jones: He got gigantism or some shit.
Artemis Jones: I don’t think that’s true.
Adonis Jones: Oh you a doctor now? We don’t know that uce!
Artemis Jones: Bitch I might be. The point is… the point is uce.. Kelin is big as fuck! Diego and Circe are dirty as hell! And we ain’t just talking about they hygiene!
Adonis Jones: All I’m saying is that you can smell em comin’.
Artemis Jones: They nasty. Reek of shit.
Adonis Jones: They stank. Circe got all kinds of STDs just like her sister Minerva. Don’t tell her I said that tho.
Artemis Jones: We keep it on the down low. Family secrets if ya feel me.
Adonis Jones: YEET!
Tafae Toa: Give me one good reason I shouldn’t just murder you two little uces right here and now. Eat Diego and Circe alive. They small. They snacks. Imma still be hungry. So then imma make my way over to Kelin’s locker room and show him first hand just who the real king of this brand really is!
Artemis Jones: You could do that! We both totally think you could do that!
Adonis Jones: You the man! You the chief! Kelin ain’t shit!
Artemis Jones: I don’t even know why he got hired to EAW in the first place. This a family business.
Adonis Jones: He ain’t family uce.
Artemis Jones: YEET!
Tafae Toa: Whatever. I have had enough of this.
(Tafae Toa has finally had enough of listening to the Jones Brothers and shoves past them through the doorway slamming the doors to the side causing the glass windows inside them to shatter.)
Artemis Jones: …
Adonis Jones: …
Artemis Jones: I think we go through to him.
Adonis Jones: I think we did too.
Artemis Jones: Mission successful! Throw up the ones!
(The Jones Brothers throw up the ones as Mikaela Street looks on in confusion.)
Adonis Jones: You too Mikaela.
Artemis Jones: You too gurl.
(Artemis Jones raises up Mikaela’s arm to throw up the ones alongside them despite her confusion.)
Adonis Jones: Yo Mikaela… I never noticed but you kinda bad…
Artemis Jones: Come on man. Not here. Not today. Let’s bounce.
(Artemis Jones drags Adonis Jones away from Mikaela Street who shrugs and walks away to end the segment.)
(The camera cuts to a commercial for the EAW produced Odyssey film starring Mr. DEDEDE fighting gods and mythological creatures to get back to Kassidy Heart before she cheats on him.)
(The camera cuts to Gina Romano in the ring.)
Gina Romano: Ladies and gentlemen the following contest is a tag team match and it is scheduled for one fall!
Crowd: ONE FALL!!!
Gina Romano: Introducing first… already in the ring weighing in at a combined weight of 300 pounds… the team of John Wrestling and Mary Ringmat!!!
(Two very generic looking wrestlers are shown smiling and waving to the crowd. John Wrestling has a buzz cut and black ring tights while Mary Ringmat is wearing a black one piece swimsuit and a bob haircut with little makeup.)
Sienna Swann: …
Gavin Kirkland: What’s wrong Sienna?
Sienna Swann: Nothing. Just one of the greatest fashion disasters I’ve ever witnessed in an EAW ring. I literally don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone more boring than these two sweetie.
Gavin Kirkland: Omg she called me sweetie. <3
Deadprez: Well I have never heard of either of these two before… But they look happy to be here. That’s what really counts.
( “Pins & Needles” by Birthday Massacre hits to boos from the crowd. )
Gina Romano: And their opponents… the team of Diego Montana and Circe!!!!!
(The crowd boos very heavily as Diego and Circe step through the curtains and make their way down to the ring. They mock the fans with faux crying taunts as they enter the ring and look disgusted at the “competition” they have been fed here this week.)
Deadprez: At Pain for Pride, Diego Montana shocked the world when he actually won his match and got a massive Pain for Pride victory to add to his career resume. Not to mention he also has Circe by his side and he has suddenly become one of the rising talents to watch here on Showdown this season.
Sienna Swann: Well I definitely would prefer to watch Circe than whatever uggo is in the ring over there. Take care of them swiftly sweetie.
Gavin Kirkland: Personally I hope Diego goes on a lengthy Pain for Pride undefeated streak for many years just to make haters like you mad Deadprez. It’s time you stop underestimating him and realize he and Circe are both destined for greatness.
(The referee calls for the bell as Diego Montana starts the match off against John Wrestling.)
Deadprez: The match begins as John Wrestling starts things off by circling around Diego Montana and measuring him up for the collar and elbow tie-up. Diego laughs and kicks him hard in the gut causing his opponent to collapse down to the mat in pain. Diego then rushes in and begins laying into him with straight punches to the face. John Wrestling falls back into the ropes as the referee forces the break.
John Wrestling: (off-mic) He’s using closed fist punches referee! That’s not allowed per the Florida State Wrestling Commission!
Referee: (off-mic) The what???
John Wrestling: (off-mic) What has happened to the game I love?
Deadprez: Well it looks like John Wrestling is finding out we do things a little differently here in EAW. I guess this can be a learning experience for him.
Gavin Kirkland: Yeah a good learning experience for him to not be a total pussy.
Deadprez: John Wrestling angrily tags out to his partner Mary Ringmat. She enters the ring and looks condescendingly down at Diego Montana before preparing to wrestle him.
Sienna Swann: This extremely unfashionable woman thinks that she can handle a Pain for Pride match winning superstar on the tier of Diego Montana? She is about to learn otherwise.
Deadprez: This time Diego counters the lockup attempt with a sudden thumb to the eye. This actually causes the referee to get annoyed and give Diego a stern talking to.
Diego Montana: (off-mic) I ain’t do shit. You didn’t see me do shit cabron. I’m an innocent mf!
Gavin Kirkland: Diego Montana rushes in and catches his blinded opponent with a Running Knee Strike knocking her into the corner. His corner. He then tags in Circe to the match for the first time.
Deadprez: They both work together stomping away at Mary Ringmat in the corner. John Wrestling tries to enter the ring but the referee stops him from interfering. Come on ref it’s two on one!
(The referee eventually turns around and asks Diego Montana to leave the ring before the five count after he had tagged into the match.)
Sienna Swann: Although I doubt she is going to fare much better against Circe alone than she would have against both Circe and Diego.
Deadprez: Circe grabs her opponent by her hair and flings her across the ring ragdolling her to the mat. Circe then leaps on top of her and begins clawing at her eyes with long fingernails as Mary Ringmat screams in pain.
Referee: (off-mic) That’s enough you two! I’m calling for the bell!
Circe: (off-mic) Do you know who I am?
Referee: (off-mic) …
Gavin Kirkland: It looks like the referee is intimidated by Circe’s family ties! As he should be!
Deadprez: The power of nepotism is preventing the referee from acting as Circe laughs and picks her opponent up!-
Sienna Swann: Circe connects with the oBITCHuary!!! That’s enough for a ten count! Get this over with sweetie!
(Circe makes the pin and orders the referee to make the count which he does.)
Referee: ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Referee: TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
(John Wrestling considers breaking up the pin but that is against the rules so he decides against it. He may not win the match but at least he still has his pride.)
Referee: THRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
(DING! DING! DING!)
Gina Romano: Here are your winners. DIEGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MONTANAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AND CIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEE!!!!
(“Pins & Needles” by Birthday Massacre hits as the crowd boos heavily clearly not impressed by Diego Montana and Circe’s performance.)
Gavin Kirkland: This crowd needs to show some respect. Diego Montana and Circe are the fastest rising stars in all of EAW!
Deadprez: I don’t know about all of that but obviously tonight’s competition wasn’t really much competition for them. Oh and it looks like they aren’t done yet.
(John Wrestling enters the ring and extends his hand to the winners.)
John Wrestling: (off-mic) No hard feelings chums. Good game!
Circe: (off-mic) …
Diego Montana: (off-mic) …
Circe: (off-mic) Diego lets get this lil pussy!
Diego Montana: (off-mic) I got you chica.
Sienna Swann: Circe now directing traffic! She just ordered Diego to continue the attack!
Deadprez: DIEGO MONTANA WITH THE LATINO INFERNO!!!
Gavin Kirkland: You know for a guy named “John Wrestling” he did absolutely zero wrestling here tonight.
(Circe now sending Diego up to the top rope!! She is stacking both opponents on top of each other.)
Circe: (off-mic) Fly Diego! Fly!
Deadprez: Diego Montana off the top connects with the Latin Lover Splash off the top rope!!!
Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Deadprez: Come on now that’s enough!-
Crowd: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Deadprez: ???
(‘National Treasure’- Drake hits to loud cheers from the crowd.)
Deadprez: It’s the Jones Brothers! They are making their way through the crowd!!
(Adonis Jones’ theme plays loudly through the arena as the Jones Brothers dance with the crowd as they make their way to the ring.)
Circe: (off-mic) …
Diego Montana: (off-mic) …
(However, the entrance through the crowd dancing takes so long that Circe and Diego Montana decide to just start attacking their opponents again while they wait for the Jones Brothers to finally make it to the ring.)
Deadprez: CIRCE WITH ANOTHER oBITCHuary to her opponent! Diego Montana connects with another Latino Inferno as well.
(The Jones Brothers finally hit the ring as their music fades and Circe and Diego turn to face them.)
Deadprez: IT’S ON NOW! CIRCE AND DIEGO ARE GETTING RUSHED IN THE RING AND BEATEN DOWN BY THE JONES BROTHERS!!
Crowd: YEET! YEET! YEET!
Gavin Kirkland: This isn’t fair! Circe and Diego just had a grueling match! Why would the Jones Bros take advantage of that?!?!? They have no respect for their peers!
(Circe and Diego try to leave the ring to evade the Jones Bros. But Diego gets caught and dragged back to the ring where he gets dropped by Adonis Jones with the Big Body Don!!!)
Sienna Swann: Get out of here Circe! You don’t have to save Diego! He’s fine!-
(‘Let God Sort ‘Em Out’ by Clispe, Pusha T and Malice hits as Circe stops in her tracks while heading up the ramp.)
Deadprez: Well it looks like Circe won’t be getting out that way…
(Circe looks on in terror as the massive Kelin walks through the curtain and begins to make his way down to the ring.)
Gavin Kirkland: This isn’t good Circe! Find another escape route!
(However, as Circe looks on in terror… Kelin simply walks past her and makes his way to the ring.)
Deadprez: ???-
Gavin Kirkland: Kelin just hit a Big Boot on Adonis Jones!!! Kelin grabs Artemis Jones by the throat and lifts him up before dropping him with a Pop Up Powerbomb!!
Sienna Swann: What? Why is Kelin helping Circe and Diego?
Gavin Kirkland: He knows who the good guys in all of this are!
Deadprez: Kelin just hit the No Man Left Behind on Adonis Jones!!! Kelin just made short work of the Jones Brothers here tonigh-
(Circe and Diego Montana are all smiles as they enter the ring to help Kelin with the beatdown.-)
Deadprez: Hol up-
(“Live Evil” by Flatliners hits as Kelin turns around to look up the ramp-)
Deadprez: But he comes in from behind!!!
Sienna Swann: Look out Big K!
Gavin Kirkland: It’s TAFAE TOA!!! HE JUST RUSHED THE RING ATTACKING KELIN, CIRCE, AND DIEGO MONTANA FROM BEHIND!!!
(Tafae shoves the massive Kelin hard with a tackle from behind knocking him into Circe with such force she flies out of the ring. Tafae then grabs Diego and hurls him over the top rope.)
Kelin: (off-mic) …
Deadprez: But I think he just made Kelin mad!!!
(Kelin turns around with his eyes bugging out of his head in anger as he stares down Tafae Toa in the ring.)
Deadprez: We about to have a clash of giants here as Kelin and Tafae Toa are face to face in the ring!
Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
(However, before they can fight security rushes the ring to separate them and end the brawl.)
Crowd: LET THEM FIGHT! LET THEM FIGHT! LET THEM FIGHT!
???: That is exactly what Kennie plans to do! Just not here… Not now…
Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
(Kennedy Street appears on stage with a microphone.)
Kennedy Street: ENOUGH! I’VE SEEN ENOUGH! YOU ALL WANT TO FIGHT SO BADLY? THEN THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!
Crowd: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Kennedy Street: AT MIDSUMMER MASSACRE… it will be the Jones Brothers…
Crowd: YEET! YEET! YEET!
Kennedy Street: Teaming up with Tafae Toa against Kelin, Diego Montana, and Circe! You three can tear each other apart in the ring and you know what? I want you all to get this out of your system then and there so you stop ruining Kennie’s show!
(Kennedy Street pauses before continuing her announcement.)
Kennedy Street: At Midsummer Massacre… your match will be… ANYTHING GOES!!!
Crowd: AJPOJAFOPAJPO$JAOP$JAOPJFOAPJOPJ$OPAJ$OPAJOFPJAPOFA
Crowd: AOPJ$OA_U)$_A$JAJPOFJAFPOJFPAJFPAOFA
Crowd: AFPJAOPJ$JO_A)$JAOOFPJAOPFJAFPOJA$JA_FJA_FA
Deadprez: LOOK OUT! THE JONES BROTHERS JUST BROKE FREE OF SECURITY AND RUSHED THE RING!!!
(However, Circe and Diego Montana manage to slip free and pull Kelin behind a wall of security.)
Deadprez: But Kelin is pushing past the security to get to the Jones Bros and Tafae Toa! He wants some!
Circe: (off-mic) Come on partner. Not here… Not now…
Diego Montana: (off-mic) Let’s be smart about this big homie.
Kelin (off-mic) … Fine.
Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Deadprez: The crowd wanted a fight here tonight. But it looks like Diego and Circe talked Kelin down and he’s leaving the ring with them. Tafae Toa is being restrained by security as he is trying everything he can to break free and get to Kelin but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen tonight.
Gavin Kirkland: It’s going to all go down at Midsummer Massacre! If these six can wait that long!
(The camera cuts to a commercial featuring all of the massacres that have happened during midsummer throughout EAW history.)
(“Another World” by Gojira starts to play throughout the Arena as Silas World walks out but is Vincent Mondrian and Ryan Joseph Wilson led to the ring by Silas Mason. They are there without El Duque and look like they have something to say.)
Deadprez: We saw the formation of this tag team after Pain For Pride, and they have vowed to be the champions in Season 20. We saw them face the Jones Bros. last week which ended in a chaotic result, but these two men are dangerous.
Sienna Swann: They definitely are an interesting duo and a very dangerous one, hungry and that speaks volumes, sweetie. I know Silas Mason better than anyone, he used to manage me, he just doesn’t sign anyone.
Gavin Kikrland: Well, Silas World is dangerous no matter who is in it, and you know after what happened with Harper Lee, Silas Mason is determined to make it right.
(They enter the ring, as Silas Mason takes the mic, the music starts to die down.)
Silas Mason: Atlanta! Silas World is here, and while most of you rednecks and idiots here in Georgia do not know greatness if it bit you in the ass, I do. See, last season there was a realization where Silas World wanted to expand, and though the Draft Show did not go the way I had wanted, thanks to Dynasty stealing Harper Lee and the incompetence of Kennedy Street. Then the jokes that have been brought into this brand like the Jones Bros. who were outmatched but because the referees are against everything that we want, it is an uphill battle, but see, El Duque will be a World Champion, and these two men will be the Unified Tag Team Champions.
(Silas pauses for a moment and smirks.)
Silas Mason: But I must say, that Dr. Bethany Blue, what a woman. She would fit perfectly by my side and take the place of Harper Lee on Silas World, but that will be for another time, trust me, we will talk. But back to business, the beautiful Doctor has something that my boys here want, and that is the Unified Tag Team Championships. See, we know that Drake Armstrong and Kai Rabeaux get the next shot, okay, but when that is over, whomever the champions are, and I do hope it is you Dr. Blue, we will be next in line, tell them Ryan.
(The crowd boos as Ryan Joseph Wilson grabs the mic.)
Ryan Wilson: Thanks Silas, you know what really chaps my ass, the fact you people boo us when we are the good guys. And yet we are treated like the villains. All I ever did was for all of you people, every single one of you and yet you boo us? I remember when Silas came to me, he saw the frustration in my eyes and asked me point blank, why do you do it? I had to think about that one for a second and then it came to me, what have you all done for me after all these years of busting my ass in that ring and for what? TO ENTERTAIN ALL OF YOU!
(The crowd continues to boo.)
Ryan Wilson: But now, this is about one thing, GOLD. Last week we faced a couple of jokes, and we challenge them again any time any place, but our eyes are set on the Unified Tag team Championships held by my good friends TLA who was my former partner AND Dr. Bethany Blue who was also a huge part of my life and guess what? Those titles are coming home to US!
(Vincent Mondrian now takes the mic.)
Vincent Mondrian: We are two individuals who have not held championship gold in a while, and we intend to get it. It doesn’t matter what it is, because there are two other championships just on this brand alone. We have the pick of the litter, but Ryan and I have joined forces to go after those Unified Tag team Championships. There isn’t a team here that can stop us and –
(Suddenly…. “No One Knows” by Queen of The Stone Age plays throughout the arena as the fans look stunned and some start to cheer. Halsey Neel slowly walks out as Silas Mason looks a little confused. Vincent and Ryan glare at one another for a second before they turn to face her as she walks halfway down to the ring and stops with a mic in hand. The theme dies down.)
Halsey Neel: Bloody fabulous, listening to you two talk about great tag teams, there is one on Showdown right now that would dog walk you two wankers in a heartbeat, and you know who they are…. THE BRITISH INVASION.
(The crowd cheers hearing their name, but Silas Mason starts to laugh.)
Silas Mason: I respect your tenacity Halsey, but the British Invasion is dead long as I have your girl in Silas World no matter how much she doesn’t want to be a part of it, she had to sign the contract. Pandora belongs to ME so far as I am concerned, while I understand why you would like some TV time, Halsey, how about you go back to obscurity. Everyone knows your tag team partner was always the star.
(Ryan, Vincent and Silas all start laughing as Halsey stands there and smiles, then laughs with them.)
Halsey Neel: Ha Ha Ha…. Shut the fuck up.
(Silas World stops for a moment and turn their attention to Halsey Neel.)
Halsey Neel: You took my partner hostage, and I am going to get her back, but for now, I feel like there has been this little bit of vitriol building in me, love. Because I have seen what you have done to a woman that I love and adore. Then I hear these two douchebags talking about being the premiere tag team, no. So, I came out here and make a challenge, these two wankers, against me and ….
(But before she can finish, Silas cuts her off.)
Silas Mason: Sorry Halsey…. Pandora is NOT available! Besides she is in another match and –
(Suddenly Silas is interrupted by “Hard Out Here For A Pimp”, the crowd explodes for their hometown guy as Damien Kutcher walks out. Halsey Neel smiles as he stands next to his woman, they kiss as he turns and glares at Silas World, his theme dies down.)
Damien Kutcher: See, Silas, she already has a partner, bruh. And we already talked to Kennedy Street…. So, it will be Silas World…. Taking on US.
Silas Mason: Excuse me!?
Damien Kutcher: You are excused.
(Damien Kutcher drops the mic and charges to the ring with Halsey Neel.)
Deadprez: HALSEY AND DAMIEN CHARGE IN BUT SILAS WORLD GET OUT OF THE RING QUICKLY! THEY AVOID THE BRAWL!
Sienna Swann: SILAS WORLD BAILS OUT, AND BOTH HALSEY NEEL AND DAMIEN KUTCHER ARE IN THE RING CALLING THEM OUT SWEETIE!
Gavin Kirkland: AND WHAT A MATCH FOR MIDSUMMER MASSACRE! THE COUPLE WILL TAKE ON SILAS WORLD AND I AM SURE IT WILL HAVE CHAMPIONSHIP IMPLICATIONS!
(Silas starts pulling Ryan Wilson and Vincent Mondrian back as both Halsey and Damien continue to egg them on to come to the ring. As it fades into a commercial break.)
(Showdown comes back from commercials as “Natural” by Imagine Dragons plays on the speakers to a huge wave of boos. El Duque stepped up forward through the curtains backstage, he stood in a proud manner, putting his hands on his waist and posing on the top of the entrance ramp while spotlights shined around him. He finally points forward towards the camera, and then poses heroically almost like the statue of a hero coming to life, a confusing sight as the boos do not stop. Silas Mason stands close and hypes up his client, as El Duque stops and then moves forward.)
Gina Romano: INTRODUCING FIRST, FROM STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA, WEIGHING IN AT 212 POUNDS, HE IS “MASKED & MARVELOUS”, EEEELLL DUUUUQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
(Donovan stops sometimes and poses towards booing fans in the front row, much to the annoyance of them. He finally gets going and then enters inside of the ring, posing with two peace signs up in the air in the middle of the ring, before going to his corner.)
(As then, “Hard Out Here for a Pimp” by Three 6 Mafia plays on the speakers and then the crowd explodes in a massive wave of cheers. Damien Kutcher walks forward through the curtains, a serious expression on his face, the sunglasses in his eyes not betraying a bit of emotion behind them. He looks around the cheering people and he stands at the top of the entrance ramp, he adjusts his fur jacket and he poses as the camera captures every angle. It is only then that Halsey comes out to accompany him, she stands right beside him with a grin and then she kisses him in the cheek. It is then that Damien becomes more lively and then he rushes forward, talking trash towards the camera and then trying to get the people to cheer louder, taking in all the love.)
Gina Romano: AND INTRODUCING HIS OPPONENT, FROM ATLANTA, GEORGIA-
Crowd: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Gina Romano: WEIGHING IN AT 240 POUNDS, HE IS “MR. HUSTLE & FLOW” DAMIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNN KUTCHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!
(Damien can’t contain his excitement anymore, he rushes forward to the people in the front row and then he gives everyone high fives, huge hugs, it is all love from all the people in Atlanta here towards the hometown boy. It takes a good five minutes for him to calm down, eventually he turns focused towards the ring, stepping up the steel steps and then turning, posing once more to another huge wave of cheers before he moves in. He takes off the fur jacket, he takes off the sunglasses and then he puts them behind him. Shit is serious now.)
(The two men now warm up respectively, the referee checking in on them both before…)
(DING! DING! DING!)
Gavin Kirkland: Here we go again, baby! Look at our beautiful superhero El Duque right there!
Sienna Swann: …now he is a superhero???
Gavin Kirkland: Yeah man! He ended up standing up against the dastardly Cody Maverick last week by getting back at him before he could seriously hurt Rex McAllister, and he stepped up without any fear to challenge him to a match at Midsummer Massacre! Respect has to be given to him and all the high praise possible too!
Deadprez: Riiight… it seems that the crowd disagrees on that front. They are booing the hell out of him even when he is trying to look good in front of them, and he is in enemy territory here as he stands against a man in his hometown right here!
Gavin Kirkland: Pftt! People won’t get it at all sometimes.
Crowd: DAMIEN! DAMIEN! DAMIEN! DAMIEN! DAMIEN! DAMIEN! DAMIEN! DAMIEN!
Sienna Swann: I think you are the only one not getting it, sweetie.
Deadprez: Damien and El Duque walk forward, Damien nods along to the people chanting for him. He approaches cautiously knowing the strength of El Duque here, they try to go and look up- but El Duque tries to grab him by the waist and then wrap around him, he wants to go for a German Suplex already!
Gavin Kirkland: No! Damien is able to wrap his arm around his head and then bring him down just before he can go for the German Suplex attempt! He tries to keep him in a Grounded Headlock!
Sienna Swann: The masked idiot is not going to stay in the mat so easily, sweetie. He is able to pull his legs and then reach for Damien’s head! He grabs onto it and then pulls him down, forcing Damien to break the headlock- but Damien is fast enough to push “El Duque”’s legs away! He rises upwards!
Deadprez: Damien trying to go for a fast stomp to the chest but El Duque rolls over to the side and then avoids it, El Duque is fast enough to spin again and then sweep at Damien’s back legs! He falls down to the mat as El Duque rises right after!
Gavin Kirkland: HE IS GOING TO GO FOR A RUNNING SHOOTING STAR PRESS!
Sienna Swann: He instead ends up going for a double footstomp right to the gut! Damien grabs onto his gut after that!
Gavin Kirkland: Oh… I wasn’t sure why but I thought he was going to go and then pull off a Running Shooting Star Press. Would have been super cool.
Sienna Swann: Maybe he didn’t go for it because he would not have been able to pull it off?
Gavin Kirkland: Whaaat? I am not sure of that! Every luchador is a highflyer in some sort of way, he should be able to pull that off! Look at the things TLA does!
Deadprez: I am not even gonna touch any of what you said. El Duque grabs the head of Damien Kutcher and he pulls him up again, he is going to irish whip him towards the corner but Damien with a reversal! He is able to send El Duque instead towards the corner back first!
Sienna Swann: Damien tries to receive El Duque after that throw to the corner with a Vertical Suplex attempt but El Duque struggles on the grasp of Damien! He is able to send a knee downwards to the top of his head and yet again he slips behind him! He wants to go for that German Suplex once more!
Deadprez: Damien is fast enough to be able to avoid it! He rushes forward and then grabs onto the ropes just before El Duque can lift him up! El Duque forced to roll through and away! Back up to his feet! DAMIEN INSTEAD ENDS UP MEETING HIM IN THE MIDDLE WITH A KNEE STRIKE RIGHT TOWARDS THE HEAD!
Gavin Kirkland: El Duque goes down in the middle of the ring and Damien drops, going for a cover attempt!
Referee: ONEEEEEE!
Referee: TWOOOOOOOOO!!
Referee: THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Deadprez: But to no avail, El Duque ends up raising his arm to the sky and he kicks right out! A bit of frustration is shown in the expression of Damien Kutcher but he doesn’t let it get to him. He rises again and then goes to pick El Duque back up, he goes to irish whip him to the ropes instead and then gather some momentum here, running to the other side!
Gavin Kirkland: DAMIEN WITH THE KITCHEN SINK! HE TRIPS EL DUQUE UP AS HE GOES DOWN! He tries to rise up again- AND GETS MET WITH A RUNNING DROPKICK RIGHT TOWARDS THE CHEST THAT SENDS HIM BACK TO THE MAT! Damien rises to his feet to louder cheers!
Sienna Swann: Now this is truly what I want to see, the young and beautiful standing up to the ugly and downright despicable!
Gavin Kirkland: But El Duque is down right now, Sienna!
Sienna Swann: Zip it.
Deadprez: Damien is once more beginning to hype himself up, once more beckoning for El Duque to get up, waiting for him to turn over- HE TRIES TO GO FOR A POWERSLAM-! NO! NO! EL DUQUE REVERSES IT AND WRAPS HIS ARMS AROUND DAMIEN! EL DUQUE SENDS HIM UP AND OVER WITH A BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX!
Sienna Swann: Oooh, that landing was not pretty at all, sweetie!
Deadprez: You can see Damien grab onto his back after that fall but El Duque sees his opportunity and he is not letting it go, Damien uses the help of the ropes here- and that is a big mistake! El Duque sends him up and over with a clothesline!
Gavin Kirkland: Damien ends up spilling out onto the outside and now El Duque starts to clap it up! LOOK AT HIM GO! LOOK AT ALL THOSE HANDS IN THE AIR CLAPPING IT UP FOR HIM!
Deadprez: There are no arms raised up in the air right now.
Gavin Kirkland: EL DUQUE FINALLY TURNS AND THEN RUNS THE ROPES HERE, GATHERING THAT MOMENTUM- AND THEN HE DIVES THROUGH THE ROPES LIKE A GRACEFUL BIRD! HE TAKES DAMIEN KUTCHER DOWN WITH A SUICIDE DIVE! WOOOOO! LET’S GOOOO!!!
Sienna Swann: Just as the masked freak goes back up and then he starts to pose again to the boos of the people, only the bald creep of Silas Mason is cheering that on!
Deadprez: Halsey is close though next to the other corner of the ring and she is cheering Damien on! It must help me out somewhat because he is trying to rise back up despite the pain!
Sienna Swann: The power of love is truly capable of anything, sweetie!
Gavin Kirkland: Well, my love for El Duque is going to defeat theirs! Come on, El Duque!
Deadprez: El Duque ends up grabbing onto Damien and then he pulls him back- throwing him right onto our announcer’s table, stand back just in case guys!
Gavin Kirkland: WOOOOO! LET’S GO, EL DUQUE!
Sienna Swann: Yes Gavin, get closer so you can see your idol with your own eyes!
Deadprez: Gavin, pull away before you get punched by accident! El Duque- SMASHES THE HEAD OF DAMIEN AGAINST OUR TABLE- and then he throws him back inside! Damien grabs onto his forehead all while El Duque tries to follow up and then hop onto the ring apron. What is he going to do now?
Gavin Kirkland: Look at a master at work right now, El Duque grabs onto the top rope and looks down at the downed Damien… AND THEN HE PULLS HIMSELF UP AND OVER WITH THE HELP OF THE ROPE! HE ENDS UP HITTING A SLINGSHOT ELBOW RIGHT TO THE BACK! LOOK AT ALL THAT LUCHA THAT HE IS DOING!
Sienna Swann: …that is not hard at all to do, Gavin.
Gavin Kirkland: Oh yeah, let us see you do it!
Sienna Swann: I was a wrestler Gavin, I can do that easily, and even if I wasn’t, I could still do it!
Deadprez: El Duque pushes Damien over and then he goes for the cover here with that Slingshot Elbow!
Referee: ONEEEEEE!
Referee: TWOOOOOOO!!
Referee: THR-
Gavin Kirkland: Damien kicks right out just before the three count- BUT THEN EL DUQUE GETS HIM RIGHT ON THE SIDE OF THE HEAD WITH A KNEE STRIKE! That is what I am talking about!
Sienna Swann: Damien slams his hand onto the mat in frustration all while El Duque poses again, he turns and sees Halsey slamming her hands onto the ring apron on a beat, she is trying to get her man in it! Some of the people in the crowd are clapping along as well, Damien is pushing through and then getting back up-
Deadprez: El Duque grabs him by the waist and then slams him back down, El Duque grabs onto his head, trying to pull him in and go with a crossface!
Gavin Kirkland: DAMIEN HOLDS ONTO THE HAND OF EL DUQUE THOUGH! He prevents him from fully locking it in- ELBOW! ELBOW! Damien rolls through and keeps hold of El Duque’s arm! He is able to get up- PULL HIM UP AND IN! HE HAS HIM ON HIS SHOULDERS! HE THROWS HIM OFF-
Deadprez: A FACEBREAKER KNEESMASH! HE DROPS EL DUQUE RIGHT ONTO HIS KNEE! JUST AS DAMIEN PULLS HIM UP AGAIN AND THEN TRIES TO FOLLOW THROUGH, WITH A DDT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING! A fast paced combo from Damien Kutcher as he goes for the cover here!
Referee: ONEEEEE!
Referee: TWOOOOOO!!
Referee: T-
Gavin Kirkland: EL DUQUE KICKS OUT! You can’t deal with the nicest and kindest person in the whole world, his heart is too big to give up!
Sienna Swann: His pride is too big for him to let himself fail you would say! Damien is not letting him get a chance to recover, he goes in front and then grabs onto that arm once more, he tries to pull El Duque in and then go for a Short Arm Back Elbow!
Gavin Kirkland: NO! EL DUQUE DUCKS AND INSTEAD IT WRAPS AROUND HIS NECK, EL DUQUE USES THAT MOMENTUM TO LIFT UP- AND BRING DAMIEN DOWN TO THE MAT WITH A SAITO SUPLEX!
Deadprez: DAMN! Damien almost landed on his head right there with that one! El Duque poses once more in victory seeing Damien get up to a seated position and now he runs the ropes, runnin towards Damien- AS HE HITS A BEAUTIFUL CARTWHEEL AND THEN JUMPS FORWARD, HITTING DAMIEN DOWN WITH A DDT!
Sienna Swann: HE JUST DID A CARTWHEEL BEFORE HITTING A DDT, WHAT KIND OF BS IS THAT?!
Gavin Kirkland: THAT WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MOVE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE! EL DUQUE GOES FOR THE COVER!
Referee: ONEEEEE!
Referee: TWOOOOOO!!
Referee: THREEEE-
Deadprez: DAMIEN’S ARM RISES UP AND HE KICKS RIGHT OUT-
Sienna Swann: BUT EL DUQUE USES THAT KICK OUT TO GRAB ONTO DAMIEN’S ARM! He pulls him into- THE CROSSFACE NOW! He has it locked in! El Duque now starts to pull Damien’s head back as far back as he can, putting that pressure on his skull! Come on sweetie, I don’t want to see this fake luchador take it away again!
Gavin Kirkland: He even has incredible technical skills! He is going to make this man submit in the middle of the ring!
Deadprez: Damien is not going that way! He grits his teeth and slams his hand onto the mat, pulling himself forward! The crowd is behind him and Halsey continues to support her man!
Sienna Swann: “El Duque” continues to pull to make Damien give up but he is not letting himself be taken down like this! He inches closer and closer towards them, the thought of failing like this making him do one last push!
Crowd: DAMIEN! DAMIEN! DAMIEN! DAMIEN! DAMIEN! DAMIEN! DAMIEN!
Deadprez: AND WITH THE FULL SUPPORT OF HIS PEOPLE… HE HAS IT! HE LAUNCHES FORWARD AND THEN PUTS HIS HAND ON THE ROPES! He breaks up the submission! All to another wave of cheers from the crowd!
Sienna Swann: Of course “El Duque” keeps on the hold despite the warnings of the referee. The referee is close to reaching the five count until finally El Duque listens and he lets go of the submission! El Duque puts his hands up acting like he did nothing wrong while Damien rests on the mat.
Gavin Kirkland: Take it easy champ, you are not the one in the rush, Damien is! Keep on moving, keep on focusing!
Deadprez: Damien tries to grab onto the ropes here and then pull himself up with the help of them- JUST FOR EL DUQUE TO GO AND THEN KICK HIM RIGHT IN THE ARM! Preventing him from going any higher. El Duque finally pushes him to the ropes here and then he starts to put pressure on that neck with his arm, all while talking trash towards his face!
El Duque: (off-mic) Tu eres basura!!!
Gavin Kirkland: Look at my goat giving inspirational words to tell Damien to keep going! He finally moves back and then goes to irish whip Damien!
Deadprez: BUT DAMIEN IS ABLE TO REVERSE AND STOP HIMSELF BEFORE BEING THROWN TO THE OTHER SIDE WITH THE IRISH WHIP! HE PULLS EL DUQUE IN AND THEN HE SLAPS HIM RIGHT ACROSS HIS FACE! THAT ONE WAS HEARD ALL OVER THE ARENA!
Sienna Swann: Now I am pretty sure what “El Duque” said just now wasn’t that pretty! Because Damien is now starting to light him up! He is pushing him to the ropes and then cutting off any spots for him to slip through! Forearm after forearm forces “El Duque” towards the ropes!
Deadprez: He tries to put up his arms to defend himself but Damien is not letting him get a chance to breathe! He finally moves and then throws him to the other side with his own Irish Whip! El Duque bounces off and then tries to hit Damien right in the chest with a dropkick- BUT HE MISSES WILDLY! DAMIEN SLIDES ON THE MAT AND EL DUQUE GETS NOTHING! He smashes hard against the mat here! He rises!
Sienna Swann: FOR DAMIEN TO HIT HIM RIGHT IN THE JAW WITH A SUPERKICK! The sudden move makes him wobble on his feet, El Duque tries to recover and then rush forward with a lariat! Damien ducks under and now he is the one that goes from behind! He has El Duque by the waist- AS HE LIFTS HIM UP TO THE SKY!
Deadprez: DAMIEN KUTCHER GETS HIM DOWN WITH AN INVERTED ATOMIC DROP! EL DUQUE JUMPS RIGHT OFF, KNOWING HE MUST BE FEELING AN INCREDIBLE PAIN DOWN THERE!
Gavin Kirkland: NOT LOS HUEVOS!!!!
Deadprez: Damien kicks El Duque on the back and then uses the momentum to force him against the ropes, El Duque bounces off involuntarily- STRAIGHT INTO A NORTHERN LARIAT TOWARDS THE BACK OF THE HEAD! El Duque falls down hard, just as Damien rises back up to the loud cheers of the people! He stands just behind the head of El Duque! HE TURNS TO HIS RIGHT! HE TURNS TO HIS LEFT!
Gavin Kirkland: …?
Deadprez: JUST AS HE STARTS TO TAKE OFF ONE OF HIS ELBOW PADS, HE GOES FOR-
Sienna Swann: NO, SWEETIE! THAT LITTLE BIT OF SHOWING OFF COSTS HIM! “EL DUQUE” ROLLS BACK AND GRABS ONTO HIS LEG! HE TRIPS HIM UP AND THEN RISES, TRYING TO LOCK IN THE ANKLE LOCK ON HIM!
Deadprez: DAMIEN TRIES TO REACH FORWARD! HE IS NOT LETTING HIMSELF GO DOWN, HE IS HOPPING ON ONE LEG! He wants to go and grab the ropes again- HE IS ABLE TO DO ONE MORE PULL AND THEN ESCAPE OUT OF THE ANKLE LOCK! HE SENDS EL DUQUE TOWARDS THE ROPES HERE!
Gavin Kirkland: EL DUQUE BOUNCES OFF THE ROPES AND COMES BACK! HE WANTS TO GO FOR A BICYCLE KICK!
Sienna Swann: DAMIEN CATCHES IT WITH BOTH OF HIS HANDS! He pushes his leg down and then tries to lift him up, he wants to go for the spinebuster- HEADBUT FROM “EL DUQUE”! Damien lets go on instinct and now El Duque pulls him down and then grabs him by his waist… he wants to lift him up?!
Deadprez: HE WANTS TO GO FOR THAT TIGER DRIVER 98! HE WANTS TO GO FOR “THE BREAKDOWN!”!!!
Sienna Swann: “El Duque” gets nothing! Damien is able to slip out of his grasp just before he can lift him up fully! Damien from the side- BACK ELBOW TO THE FACE! FOREARM! JUMPING KNEE STRIKE! IT SENDS EL DUQUE TO THE ROPES RIGHT BEHIND HIM! DAMIEN-
Gavin Kirkland: EL DUQUE COMES BACK WITH A HUGE SPINNING BACK FIST THAT ROCKS DAMIEN RIGHT IN THE JAW! HE IS DONE-
Deadprez: AND THEN DAMIEN HITS HIM DOWN WITH A HUGE LARIAT! THE TWO MEN GO DOWN! THE TWO OF THEM GO DOWN TO THE MAT!
Gavin Kirkland: Oh god, we might be screwed. COME ON, EL DUQUE! GET BACK UP!
Sienna Swann: Music to my ears when Gavin is going through it, but the two of them are down right now, what is going to happen next?! Actually, I think I already have the answer.
(While Damien Kutcher and El Duque are trying to roll away and get some distance here and find some way to recover, the camera turns and focuses on Silas Mason trying to move and then get up to the ring apron, but just before he can do it-)
Deadprez: HALSEY RUSHES OVER AND THEN SHE PULLS SILAS MASON RIGHT OFF OF THE RING APRON! She is not going to stand still and then let Silas do his usual antics! She is shouting right at his face while he backs away scared! The referee has to move over and then check up on the two of them fighting.
(Suddenly though, spotlights shine on the crowd and at someone running through it, as they hop over the barricade, all while El Duque is finally able to get up-)
Gavin Kirkland: “SIN CITY STUNNEEERRRR”?!?!?!?!
Deadprez: CODY RUSHED THROUGH THE CROWD, HOPPED OVER THE BARRICADE AND ENTERED INSIDE! HE HITS EL DUQUE WITH THE SIN CITY STUNNER FOR REVENGE FROM LAST WEEK! He slides right out of and then goes to hop over again, all without the ref knowing!
Sienna Swann: Damien is not going to complain about that, he gets up to his feet and then rushes over. The referee is not distracted any longer as he focuses back. El Duque is down once more, face up! He stands behind him… as he… ?
Deadprez: GRABS ONTO HIS ELBOW PAD AND THEN THROWS IT AWAY! HE SIGNALS IT TO THE CROWD!
Sienna Swann: HE RUNS TO THE ROPES, HE BOUNCES OFF THEM!
Deadprez: HOPS OVER EL DUQUE, BOUNCES OFF AGAIN!
Sienna Swann: HE SLIDES THROUGH-
Deadprez: “ATL ELBOOOOOOOOOOOOWW!!!” IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA ITSELF!!! THE CROWD IS GOING WILD! JUST AS DAMIEN GRABS ONTO EL DUQUE AND THEN LIFTS HIM UP!
Gavin Kirkland: EL DUQUEEEEE, PLEASEEEEE!!!!
Deadprez: “THE TRENCHES”!!! THE ROCK BOTTOM LANDS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING! EL DUQUE FALLS DOWN HARD! REFEREE WITH THE COUNT!
Referee: ONEEEEEEEEE!
Referee: TWOOOOOOOOOO!!
Referee: THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
(DING! DING! DING!)
(“Hard Out Here for a Pimp” plays on the speakers to the crowd exploding in full support, many people are up on their feet screaming their heart out. Damien cracks a confident smile and rolls away, he slams his hand in triumph and then rises, the smile growing bit by bit at the victory and the momentum he gathers heading into Midsummer Massacre. He rises as the referee raises his hand, finally moving forward and jumping onto the ropes, talking trash again and feeling on top of the world.)
Gina Romano: HERE IS YOUR WINNER, DAMIEEENNNN KUTCHEEEERRRRR!!!!
Gavin Kirkland: NOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Sienna Swann: Music to my ears, congratulations to Damien Kutcher for the huge victory tonight against El Duque!
Deadprez: You can give thanks to Cody Maverick for that but after what he did to him last week, it was only a matter of time before karma struck back and it did big time for El Duque! Either way, the two men fought hard to win here and Damien is the one that gets it tonight, no less in his own hometown in front of friends and family!
(Halsey rolls inside and then he ends up jumping onto the back of Damien, she sticks her tongue out all while Damien laughs to himself, he poses in victory with Halsey on his back as Halsey puts the sunglasses back on him, the two further celebrating all while Silas turns over, insulted, angry, seeing Cody Maverick leave through the crowd one last time, successful in his mission. Showdown fades to commercials on one last scene as Damien leaves and goes to celebrate with the crowd.)
(We have returned from commercial break and the action from the previous match has cleared out. Now there is a little bit of silence and calmness at ringside before the sounds of “Section” by The Roots start playing throughout the arena. Seconds later, the legendary and the one and only Impact enters the arena to a mixed reaction from the crowd. We can’t really gauge the expression on his face, but there has to be something on his mind as Impact heads to the ring.)
Gina Romano: Ladies and gentlemen! Please welcome EAW HALL OF FAMER! “THE QUINTESSENTIAL CHAMPION” IMPACT!!!!
Deadprez: Here comes the legend himself making his way to the ring and this is the first time we have seen Impact for the new season and I believe also the first time since Pain for Pride. I for one am excited to have Impact back on the blue brand.
Gavin Kirkland: Karl fought so hard at Pain for Pride in that Scramble match so he could leave with a title shot to get one step closer to achieving his dream of last season. It unfortunately didn’t come into fruition as Joso left with the title shot.
Sienna Swann: But he has consistently shown that he is still at the top of his game in terms of skill and what is stopping him from making Season 20 the season where he breaks his own World Title record? Sweetie, we are about to find out what the legend has to say.
(Impact grabs a microphone from Gina before entering the ring. Karl stands in the middle of the ring as he listens to the crowd as his entrance music dies down and he starts to speak.)
Impact: I am a big enough of a person where I can admit that Pain for Pride was not necessarily one of my best nights. I might have lost the match, but I sure as hell didn’t go out without a fight. It would have been nice to win that title shot, but it unfortunately wasn’t meant to be.
Impact: But that was the end of last season. Now we are in EAW’s historic 20th season. I am going to be quite honest with all of you right now when I say that Season 20 might be it.
(The crowd starts to boo. It’s not because they hate Impact right now, it’s because of the way that he said how this season might be it.)
Impact: But as far as I am concerned, this is the season where I need to either make it or break it. Let’s be honest here. I am not exactly a young gun in this company anymore and the sands of time are getting near and not exactly going in my favor, so you better believe I am not going to waste a damn second of the time I have left.
Impact: That means I need to make good on the goal I set for myself last season. I am going to make it true this season. That one goal I have on my mind is to become the Answers World Champion once again and break my own record and become an ELEVEN TIME WORLD CHAMPION!
(The crowd gives a very positive reaction to that declaration as a lot of the EAW faithful would love to see Impact become World Champion. As he finishes, we hear “Power” by The Score start to play and the cheers get really loud as Rex McAllister walks out onto the entrance stage. Impact has a very surprised look on his face because he didn’t expect anybody, much less Rex, to come out here as Rex is staring down the ramp and he heads to the ring.)
Gavin Kirkland: The legends of EAW just keep arriving as here comes another Hall of Famer in Rex McAllister. We saw Rex last week make a long awaited return to Showdown with a huge victory over Cody Maverick.
Sienna Swann: While we have heard Impact talking about wanting to become World Champion again, you could say the same thing about Rex McAllister. He was very close to making that dream a reality.
Deadprez: He was very close to winning the Cash in the Vault match at Pain for Pride, but it just wasn’t meant to be. Could Season 20 be the season where we see Rex McAllister become World Champion again? Let’s hear what Rex has to say.
(Rex grabs a microphone from Gina before rolling into the ring and walking up to Impact. The crowd starts to die down when Rex’s music dies down and Rex begins to speak.)
Rex McAllister: Look, Karl, I am not out here to cause any sort of trouble with you or anything. I just came out here to say that I completely understand.
(Impact looks at Rex, wondering where Rex is going with this conversation.)
Rex McAllister: What I mean is that I understand exactly where you are coming from when you say the sands of time are getting near. Unfortunately, time waits for nobody, and we are not exempt from that.
Impact: Unfortunately, that is true, but I am not going to let Father time take me down until I win the Answers World Championship one more time.
(Rex looks down at the mad and nods in understanding.)
Rex McAllister: I can understand that. I can respect that. But there might be one little thing that might derail your plans to become Answers World Champion this season.
Impact: Oh yeah? What exactly is that?
Rex McAllister: It’s me.
Impact: You?
Rex McAllister: That’s right. Me. It has been a very long time since I have been a member of the blue brand, and I am honestly very glad to be back on Showdown after so long. You’re not the only one who wants to be Answers World Champion because I, too, want to be the Answers World Champion.
Impact: Well this is certainly a problem, but I hate to tell you… alright maybe I don’t hate it as much as you expect, but this goal has been going on two seasons and that is me becoming Answers World Champion.
Rex McAllister: Well, I guess we will see who gets to the Answers World Championship first.
(The two legends continue to talk to each other debating on who will be Answers World Champion before they are cut off by a voice coming over the speakers.)
?????: Hello, gentlemen! Look up here!
(Both Rex and Karl wonder who that is as they turn to the tron and see General Manager Kennedy Street on the screen. She has a smile on her face as she begins to speak.)
Kennedy Street: Gentlemen! I am glad that I have the attention of the two of you, I really want you to listen to what I have to say. First off, I want to say that both of you are both cornerstones in this industry and are some of the most respected competitors in not just this company, but this entire business.
Kennedy Street: But I am not here right now to sing your praises. I am here to tell you that, as I said, you both are cornerstones of this industry, and you both will get the chance to prove it at Midsummer Massacre because it is going to be a Hall of Famer against a Hall of Famer. It’s going to be Impact taking on Rex McAllister.
(The crowd cheers at this announcement. Kennedy smiles because she knows she’s not done yet.)
Kennedy Street: Of course, I know that this match could absolutely steal the show, but that’s not why I made the match. I have no doubts that you will both fight your hearts out to live up to what you say about wanting to become Answers World Champion. Why? Because the winner of this match not only gets the feeling of victory, but the winner will also get the match that they want because the winner will face the Answers World Champion at TERRITORIAL INVASION!
(Karl and Rex both look pretty pleased at that announcement as they look at each other.)
Impact: You know what? It sounds good to me.
Rex McAllister: I like the sound of that. May the best man win.
(Rex extends his hand for a shake and Impact returns the handshake which gets a very loud and very positive reaction from the crowd.)
Gavin Kirkland: What an announcement by Kennedy Street! This is a match for the ages as Rex McAllister and Impact go one on one at Midsummer Massacre. A match built upon respect. Don’t you love it whenever that happens? Because it honestly rarely does.
Sienna Swann: Sweetie, not only does this level of respect occur in EAW matches, but the winner of this match will get a chance to become the Answers World Champion as the winner gets a title match at Territorial Invasion.
Deadprez: This match could easily main event a Pain for Pride, but we get it at Midsummer Massacre. This match might never happen again, so everyone should definitely tune in to Midsummer Massacre because one of these two Hall of Famers could be on their way to possibly becoming World Champion again.
(The final shot shows Impact and Rex still shaking hands as a show of mutual respect before the camera shot fades elsewhere.)
(“You Are Stronger” by Lyn Inaizumi starts to play throughout the arena as the fans stand on their feet and cheer loudly. Milli Banks slowly walks out to the reaction and smiles before posing, then her music stops and it is replaced by “7 Rings” by Ariana Grande as the cheers continue. Now Veena Adams walks out and looks around, she has a smile on her face as well, the two ladies fist bump before making their way toward the ring.)
Deadprez: Kewt & Kunty are reunited, they are here back on Showdown after a whole season separated and it took no time for their presence to be felt on the first Showdown of Season 20 after Pandora Paisley came out to confront Milli Banks.
Sienna Swann: Kewt & Kunty are two women that if they focus on the Unified Tag Team titles are a huge threat to win them. But they have a lot to talk about and the impending match with a power couple in Pandora and Jon Kelton, sweetie.
Gavin Kirland: The two queens are back together again, and we all know that Pain For Pride did not go well for either of them, but that is not going to stop them from making the most out of this season and getting gold around their waist!
(Milli Banks and Veena Adams make their way into the ring; the crowd continues to cheer as the music slowly dies down.)
Milli Banks: ATL! Kewt & Kunty are REUNITED and it feels soooooo good! At the draft show the second I saw my graphic pop up fort Showdown, and then I waited in anticipation for Veena’s to come up next and when it did, I had this feeling of relief, and considering how both of our Pain For Pride’s ended, it felt like a huge weight off our shoulders. We were not happy walking into the Draft show, but this gave us something to smile about, a fresh start, and together, reunited with my bestie!
(The crowd cheers as Veena gives Milli a hug.)
Veena Adams: I know, right!? Like this is amazing that we finally are together again and I have been waiting over a year, it felt so empty inside not having my bestie with me, and now that I do, we are not only going to run Showdown, but we are also going to throw in our hats into the race for those Unified Tag team Championships at some point!
(The crowd loves hearing that as Veena smirks and Milli nods.)
Veena Adams: But unfortunately, first we must deal with two pains in our asses. I have to team with one of them in Jon Kelton who I hate, hate, hate! The other is of course Pandora Paisley who was the little train that couldn’t last season and granted, she can blame me for costing her the Answers World Championship, but was it really hers to win in the first place, no it was MINE, but she couldn’t handle that, so this bitch attacked and cost me the title at Pain For Pride, boo.
(The crowd erupts in large boos.)
Milli Banks: We may have lost in our chances to be or stay as World Champions but that doesn’t mean the road to gold doesn’t start RIGHT NOW. And tonight I will be sitting ringside on commentary watching my girl team up with that traitor Kelton who turned his back on the love of my life, to face a woman we all respect Bea Valentine, and Joso who seems to have drank the Minerva Kool-Aid. So before –
(Suddenly “All Of The Lights” by Kanye West starts to play throughout the arena as the fans boo. Jon Kelton slowly comes out in his wrestling gear with his beautiful girlfriend, Pandora Paisley by his side. They both have a mic in hand as they head to the ring.)
Deadprez: I didn’t think it was going to take a lot of time for these two to come out especially after what happened last week, Pandora will be doing commentary with us tonight along with Milli Banks in the main Event!
Sienna Swann: Jon Kelton is also back on Showdown, and this is about to get quite interesting.
Gavin Kirkland: Make sure Pandora sits by me tonight!
(Kelton and Pandora walk to the ring while speaking.)
Jon Kelton: I am sure everyone is happy that you two are together, but what we forgot to mention is that WE too are together again and that makes this a little more important and here is why. Milli, let’s be honest girl, after Pain For Pride, you ran your opponent over with a car and tried to commit murder on TV and you still lost, that is the definition of washed.
(Pandora starts to laugh as Kelton just shakes his head, Milli didn’t find that very amusing.)
Pandora Paisley: And Veena, you sound like a bloody hypocrite, okay? I had you beaten on several occasions, I should be the one standing here as the Answers World Champion, not Bea, Jake Smith, and certainly not YOU! So, I returned the favor, and even stuck the olive branch out to Milli but she refused, then again she showed her true colors leading into Pain For Pride, you two are fakes and deserve one another. But Jon and I were talking, and we feel like this doesn’t need to be just any ordinary tag team match at Midsummer Massacre, nah love… let’s make it a Texas Tornado Tag and we will leave it in the bloody ring!
(The crowd cheers for that as both Milli and Veena look at one another and nod.)
Veena Adams: You know what bitch? ACCEPTED!
(Security and officials quickly run out to stop all four from getting at one another right before the main event. Pandora and Milli are escorted to the announce table as Jon Kelton and Veena Adams stay in the ring glaring at one another.)
Deadprez: Our Main Event is going to start soon! Right after we get order here and this commercial break!
(The camera fades to the final commercial break.)
(Showdown returns from a commercial break for the final time with Gina Romano standing by for the main event.)
Gina Romano: YOUR MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING IS A TAG TEAM MATCH SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL!
Crowd: ONE FALL!
Gina Romano: INTRODUCING FIRST!… CURRENTLY IN THE RING…. THE TEAM OF JON KELTON AND VEENA ADAMS!
Gavin Kirkland: Welcome back to Showdown for our main event tag team contest! We genuinely have no idea how smoothly these two are going to function as a unit once that bell rings, but what I can tell you with absolute certainty is that we have TWO phenomenal women joining us at commentary tonight! Milli Banks and Pandora Paisley! I am genuinely thrilled to have both of them here!
Milli Banks: Thank you for the welcome, Gavin.
Pandora Paisley: Say anything remotely strange to me tonight and I will not be held responsible for what happens next. Are we clear?
Gavin Kirkland: YES, MA’AM!
Sienna Swann: Veena does not appear to be radiating a great deal of enthusiasm about sharing a corner with Jon Kelton tonight, sweetie, and honestly I can sympathise with that particular predicament to a degree. The attire is impeccable as always, I will give her that. Whatever her feelings about the situation, she at least had the good sense to dress for a main event.
Deadprez: The underlying tension in this partnership is the defining narrative going into this match. Two people who have been placed in the same corner by circumstance rather than choice, and the question of whether that shared disadvantage is enough to make them function as something resembling a cohesive unit is precisely what we are about to find out.
(‘LIKE WEEZY’ by Playboi Carti detonates through the building into a loud and divided reaction from the crowd as Joso makes his way out, carrying that signature swagger that has followed him through every chain of events leading into this moment. He barely has time to settle into his stride before ‘Gloria’ by the London Symphony Orchestra replaces his theme entirely, and Bea Valentine emerges with measured and regal composure, the Answers World Championship held proudly at her side as she marches toward the ring. She passes Joso on the way down and the look she gives him communicates everything she has not bothered to put into words. They head to the ring in their own separate orbits.)
Gina Romano: INTRODUCING THEIR OPPONENTS!… THE TEAM OF JOSO AND THE EAW ANSWERS WORLD CHAMPION!… BEA VALENTINE!
Gavin Kirkland: Just when we thought Joso was going to be the shining centrepiece of this community going forward, he goes and pulls something like this and makes a spectacle of everyone who believed in him! How does he justify that?!
Pandora Paisley: Or maybe you are just someone who cannot get a clear and accurate read on him because you have already made up your mind. Ever consider that?
Sienna Swann: I have very little interest in the ongoing soap opera of last week’s developments, sweetie, but I will acknowledge that there is a clear and appreciable contrast in presentation between these two. Joso comes out to something appropriately brooding and atmospheric which at least suits his current disposition, but Bea carries that championship and that entrance theme with the kind of composed authority that separates a world champion from everyone else on this roster.
Milli Banks: Genuinely surprising. I will not pretend otherwise. Whatever I thought I knew about the direction Joso was heading, this was not it. But here we are.
Deadprez: Let us see whether the words these four exchanged with one another throughout the week translate into something coherent once that bell rings. Because right now, standing on opposite sides of that ring, every one of them looks like they have something very specific to prove.
(DING DING DING!)
Gavin Kirkland: Moving further into the new season with a tag team special headlining our main event tonight!
Pandora Paisley: Very special indeed, yeah. We are about to witness something deeply unpleasant, I reckon. And I genuinely feel for Kelton being dragged into this situation with someone who has completely misread him from the start.
Milli Banks: Okay? The match has not even started, and you are already campaigning for him. Interesting choice of priorities.
Pandora Paisley: Excuse me, shut your bloody mouth.
Deadprez: Alright, everyone, take a breath. Let the match play out before we start the tribunal up here.
Sienna Swann: This is shaping up to be one of those thoroughly exhausting evenings for me, sweetie. I can already feel it.
Pandora Paisley: What was that?
Gavin Kirkland: Veena Adams and Bea Valentine appear to be starting this match off for their respective sides–
(TAG!)
Gavin Kirkland: Bea turns around in confusion at the tag, and it is JOSO who has tagged himself in! You are not even going to allow your own partner to get things going?!
(Joso moves toward Veena, but Bea steps directly into his path, already visibly irritated by the presumption.)
Bea Valentine: (Off-Mic) Excuse me… what exactly do you think you are doing right now?
Joso: (Off-Mic) I do not see the benefit in you getting a head start here. I am trying to be the better partner in this situation.
Bea Valentine: (Off-Mic) That is rich coming from you of all people–
(POUND!)
Deadprez: AND THEY HAVE WASTED ENTIRELY TOO MUCH TIME STANDING THERE DEBATING IT! Veena Adams comes surging in from behind, shoves Joso directly into Bea Valentine, and sends the World Champion tumbling through the ropes to the outside! VEENA IMMEDIATELY ROLLS JOSO UP FROM BEHIND!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Deadprez: BUT JOSO KICKS OUT AT TWO!
Sienna Swann: This is what happens when two people with incompatible egos attempt to function as a unit, sweetie. The opponent does not even need to do anything particularly clever. She simply waited for the inevitable and capitalised on it beautifully.
Milli Banks: Predictable.
Pandora Paisley: Right. Yeah. Brilliant start, that.
Gavin Kirkland: Joso finds his footing and squares up with Veena Adams, quickly dragging the forearm across the side of her head and spinning back around looking for the discus elbow! But Veena slips out of the path and DRIVES a sharp, smashing elbow straight into the side of Joso’s ribs the moment he comes around! Joso gets pushed back, and Veena is not letting him breathe for a single second, stacking kicks on top of one another and building damage with every connection! Pound after pound, Veena Adams is putting in real work right now!
Deadprez: One has to wonder whether some of that intensity is being fuelled by the situation on her own side of the ring.
Milli Banks: Almost certainly. I know Veena well enough to recognise when she is performing for a reason beyond the match itself.
Pandora Paisley: Still a show-off at the end of the day, isn’t she? Doesn’t make it any less irritating to watch, does it?
Sienna Swann: Veena has taken control rather impressively here, sweetie, and she is pressing that advantage with purpose now. She has Joso pinned in the corner and is unloading kicks directly into his chest with the kind of sustained aggression that suggests he is going to feel every one of those in the morning. And frankly, after that catastrophic opening sequence he engineered for himself, he has earned every single one of them.
Deadprez: Joso is currently paying the full price for a decision he made seconds into this match. The bill is still being presented!
Gavin Kirkland: Veena now wraps the arm around Joso’s head the moment he is caught off guard and takes a running burst toward the far end of the ring… INTO A RUNNING BULLDOG! Joso goes face first into the canvas and Veena immediately drops into the cover!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Gavin Kirkland: KICK OUT AT TWO! Kelton is watching every single development from the apron with complete and serious focus while Veena Adams continues operating as though her partner simply does not exist out there–
(Veena rises, walks directly over to the apron, and SLAPS Jon Kelton clean across the face as her method of making the tag.)
(TAG!)
Gavin Kirkland: WELL! PERHAPS NOT AS INDIFFERENT AS SHE APPEARED! AND HONESTLY? I WOULD HAPPILY TAKE THAT SLAP FROM VEENA ADAMS ANY DAY OF THE WEEK AND TWICE ON SUNDAYS!
Milli Banks: The fuck?
Deadprez: Acquire some dignity, man.
Sienna Swann: Exactly, sweetie.
Pandora Paisley: This is genuinely one of the main reasons I was hesitant about coming here tonight.
Gavin Kirkland: ??????? You lot are all completely out of your minds! That was a beautiful moment!
Pandora Paisley: Moving on. At least Jon is in there now doing actual work, which I am perfectly happy about.
(After absorbing the slap, Veena steps off the apron without a backwards glance. Kelton stands there for a fraction of a second, jaw tight, something flickering behind his eyes, then pulls it back and steps through the ropes with his focus locked squarely onto the rising Joso.)
Gavin Kirkland: Kelton is absolutely seething underneath that composed exterior, but he is keeping his head clear and channelling every bit of that into this match! He reaches over and secures Joso into a front headlock, then begins driving the knee repeatedly up into his jaw in a sustained and methodical sequence! Joso came into this match looking to make a statement, and so far, the match has been making one about him instead, because he has spent the majority of it being thrown around and picked apart by everyone sharing the ring with him tonight!
Sienna Swann: Jon Kelton has a certain understated precision about him that I find considerably more watchable than the chaos that preceded his entry, sweetie.
Pandora Paisley: Agreed on that front. Joso has been an absolute nuisance so frankly he deserves everything he is getting in there right now.
Gavin Kirkland: Kelton scoops Joso up onto his shoulder and CARRIES him down the ring with a Running Powerslam that drives him into the canvas with authority! Joso has been put down hard and Bea Valentine, who has been watching all of this unfold from the apron with steadily building frustration, has finally had enough of watching her partner get dismantled! Here is the cover!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Gavin Kirkland: JOSO MANAGES TO GET OUT AT TWO!
Bea Valentine: (Off-Mic) WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING OUT THERE, JOSO?!?!?!?
Sienna Swann: I would have precisely the same question, sweetie, given the state he is currently in.
Pandora Paisley: Here is my answer: absolutely nothing. He has done absolutely sod all in this match.
Milli Banks: To be fair, he was put at a disadvantage from the very opening of this match. The circumstances did not exactly give him room to operate, so the lack of output is at least partially understandable from a tactical standpoint.
Gavin Kirkland: Kelton hauls Joso back upright and BLASTS a right hand across his jaw that sends him staggering backward into the ropes! Kelton reaches over and attempts to send him to the opposite side, but Joso counters it and reverses with an Irish Whip of his own! KELTON COMES FLYING BACK WITH A RUNNING CLOTHESLINE, BUT JOSO DUCKS UNDERNEATH IT!
Deadprez: Joso avoids it and immediately grabs Kelton by the waist, looking to connect with the Snap Dragon Suplex, but Kelton manages to wrench the arm free and DRIVES an elbow flush into Joso’s face that sends him stumbling backward! Joso is stunned, and Kelton hits the ropes, coming back at full velocity and PERHAPS ALREADY LOOKING FOR THE FINAL ATONEMENT, BUT JOSO AVOIDS BY LEAPING CLEANLY OVER IT!
Gavin Kirkland: Kelton pumps the brakes and wheels back around to redirect his focus, but Joso drives a kick into the gut and PREPARES FOR THE GRATEFUL DEATH! Kelton manages to shake himself free and sidestep the Package Piledriver attempt, shoving Joso toward the ropes! But Joso leaps over the top rope, lands on the apron, and pulls Kelton down into a SUNSET FLIP ROLL-UP!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Gavin Kirkland: Kelton kicks out at two and rolls backward, immediately looking to surge forward with the Running Meteora, but Joso reads the trajectory of that incoming knee and rolls through it cleanly before WRENCHING Kelton over into an Ankle Lock of his own! These two are producing some genuinely compelling wrestling despite being on the same side of this match and the chemistry between them, however adversarial, is undeniable!
(Joso cranks the hold tighter and shoots a pointed look directly at Bea Valentine on the apron while maintaining the submission.)
Joso: (Off-Mic) YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT I AM DOING NOW?!??!?! CARRYING YOUR ENTIRE TEAM!
Deadprez: WRENCHING IT DEEPER! Kelton is locked in that Ankle Lock that was applied with impressive speed and sharpness by Joso, who is showing a technical awareness that has been absent for most of this match-up until now!
Milli Banks: Whatever you want to say about the new direction he has taken, Joso at his ceiling is still a genuinely elite performer.
Pandora Paisley: Kelton will find a way out of it. He is too smart to stay stuck in there. Just don’t let that little gobshite get in your head, Jon.
Gavin Kirkland: Kelton is slowly and painstakingly working his body against the hold, millimetre by millimetre, twisting against the angle of the lock and finally managing to pry his leg free after several agonising seconds! Joso immediately reaches for him with both arms, but Kelton reads the attempt and DRIVES HIM OVER WITH A RELEASE GERMAN SUPLEX! JOSO GOES DOWN HARD!
Sienna Swann: The ceiling on a submission only goes as high as the intelligence of the person holding it, and Kelton is simply smarter than the situation allowed Joso to account for.
Pandora Paisley: There we go.
(Joso goes tumbling from the German Suplex and rolls directly toward his own team’s corner, where Bea Valentine immediately reaches out and tags him the moment he is within range.)
(TAG!)
Gavin Kirkland: THE TAG IS MADE! BEA VALENTINE IS STEPPING INTO ACTION!
(However, Joso, still reeling from the pain of the suplex, slowly registers what just happened and immediately fixes his stare on Bea the moment she steps through the ropes.)
Gavin Kirkland: BEA IS COMING INTO THE RING AND GOES STRAIGHT FOR THE BEA TRIGGER ON JON IMMEDIATELY–
(Joso grabs her by the arm and pulls her back, getting directly in her face.)
Joso: (Off-Mic) YO, YOU CANNOT TAG ME IN OR OUT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!
(SLAP!)
Gavin Kirkland: Bea was absolutely not having any of it and she SLAPS Joso clean across the face!
Bea Valentine: (Off-Mic) Get out of my way RIGHT NOW!
Milli Banks: BEA, WATCH OUT!
(## GALICK GUN!)
Deadprez: GALICK GUN, BUT NO! KELTON COMES FLYING IN WITH THE SUPERKICK BUT IT CONNECTS WITH JOSO INSTEAD AND LAUNCHES HIM CLEAN THROUGH THE ROPES TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE RING!
Pandora Paisley: Dumbass.
Gavin Kirkland: That was not the intended target, but at the very least, Kelton has resolved the immediate problem of Joso inserting himself into everything! Kelton turns back around to face Bea, and she avoids… BUT GETS CAUGHT WITH A QUICK CUTTER FROM BEA! KELTON IS DOWN AND HERE IS THE COVER!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Gavin Kirkland: KELTON KICKS OUT!
Deadprez: There is a genuinely compelling irony at work here. The team with the most internal dysfunction has somehow produced the most competitive stretch of this match. Joso is on the floor, Kelton just took a Superkick he was not intending to throw, and Bea Valentine nearly just won this match entirely off the back of all of it!
Gavin Kirkland: Kelton is going to need a brief moment to collect himself after absorbing that Cutter from Bea, but Bea is already taking that opportunity to ascend to the top rope! She is climbing with full intent up there, but wait a moment, Veena Adams is coming up the apron and reaching out for her, looking to pull her attention away and prevent her from coming down on Kelton from that height! Oh, is she actually looking out for her partner for once?
Milli Banks: Less likely that, and more likely she wants to be the one to finish it herself.
Pandora Paisley: She’s finally cottoned on to the fact that she’s been well outperformed by Jon Kelton this whole match, hasn’t she? About time she put some actual effort into it.
Gavin Kirkland: Bea shoves Veena clean off the apron and redirects her focus back toward Kelton… BUT KELTON HAS ALREADY EXPLODED OFF THE CANVAS AND CHARGED STRAIGHT UP TO THE TOP ROPE HIMSELF! WATCH THIS! SUPERPLEX COMES CRASHING DOWN FROM THE TOP!
Deadprez: Kelton is absolutely surging right now following that, and credit is at least partially due to Veena for occupying Bea’s attention long enough to prevent her from completing whatever she had planned from that elevated position. Kelton now hits the ropes, rebounds off the far side and comes flying back… WITH THE LIONSAULT THAT LANDS ACROSS VALENTINE! KELTON STRAIGHT INTO THE COVER!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Deadprez: Bea Valentine powers out at two and this match continues!Gavin Kirkland: Kelton gets back to his feet and immediately looks to make the tag, reaching out for Veena Adams, but Veena is still down on the floor after being shoved off the apron! Kelton cannot believe what he is seeing!
Jon Kelton: (Off-Mic) VEENA, COME ON! GET BACK UP!
Veena Adams: (Off-Mic) You do not necessarily need my help at this particular moment!
Jon Kelton: (Off-Mic) WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FUNCTIONING AS A TEAM!
Pandora Paisley: That right there tells you everything you need to know about the difference in priorities between these two people. I don’t even need to elaborate on it, do I.
Milli Banks: Watching these two teams attempt to cooperate is genuinely uncomfortable viewing. Both partnerships are operating with completely different sets of objectives, and it is actively costing them.
Gavin Kirkland: There is no use waiting on Veena right now, and it is going to take her a moment to recover and get back up to that apron! Bea is already clawing her way back to her feet, and Kelton has to keep her contained while he has no backup available! He picks Bea up himself… BUT BEA POWERS THROUGH AND DRIVES JON BACK INTO THE CORNER WITH FORCE!
Deadprez: Valentine shoves Jon down into the turnbuckles and grabs him by the head, takes him toward the ropes, and we all know what the World Champion is capable of when she gets that setup established… TORNADO DDT SPIKES JON KELTON HEADFIRST INTO THE CANVAS!
Gavin Kirkland: Veena is just about making her way back to the apron when Valentine comes sprinting in and BASEBALL SLIDES through the ropes, sending Veena crashing back down to the floor in the exact same spot she was just recovering from! Jon Kelton is completely isolated now with absolutely nobody available to tag!
Deadprez: Kelton is only just hauling himself back upright and reorienting after the Tornado DDT he absorbed, as Valentine comes surging back into the corner and takes aim, swinging for the Discus Lariat! But Kelton catches the arm and manages to hook her over INTO A SNAP SUPLEX! Kelton gets the toss and immediately turns toward the corner, reaching out and calling for his partner once more!
Jon Kelton: (Off-Mic) VEENA?????
Milli Banks: She is not answering because she cannot answer. She was just sent back down to the floor.
Sienna Swann: How sad was that, sweetie.
Gavin Kirkland: Kelton has no choice but to hold his ground and navigate this alone for the time being! Valentine is pulling herself back up off the canvas from the Snap Suplex with Kelton moving in to press the advantage, but she drives a kick straight into his gut to halt the approach! Valentine launches herself back into the ropes with Kelton trying to intercept her and swinging for a desperate clothesline, but Valentine slides underneath it and comes off the opposite ropes… SLINGBLADE FROM BEA CUTS KELTON DOWN!
Deadprez: Kelton is stumbling back to his feet following the Slingblade and Valentine wheels around with predatory speed, catching him and hoisting him up onto her shoulders before DRIVING HIM DOWN WITH THE FIREMAN’S CARRY CUTTER! Kelton has been planted and Bea drops straight into the cover!
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Deadprez: KELTON WITH A SHOULDER UP!
Pandora Paisley: This is an absolutely dreadful night for Jon Kelton and it is doing my head in, honestly. Why this brand thought it was acceptable to pair him with someone who has shown precisely zero willingness to operate as an actual partner and bring any semblance of professionalism to this arrangement is completely beyond me.
Gavin Kirkland: Veena has finally managed to haul herself back up to the apron and is reaching out, looking to get back into this match! Kelton is being dragged backward slowly as Bea Valentine continues pressing the punishment forward! Bea is perhaps looking to finish this once and for all, she pivots and PERHAPS GOING FOR BEA MY VALENTINE RIGHT HERE!
Deadprez: But she gets shoved into the corner instead–
(TAG!)
Gavin Kirkland: OH! JOSO HAS JUST FOUND THE MOST UNIQUELY UNHINGED WAY TO MAKE A TAG IN THE HISTORY OF THIS PROFESSION! A SUCKER PUNCH DIRECTLY INTO BEA’S NOSE COUNTS AS THE TAG AND BEA VALENTINE GOES DOWN! I HAVE NEVER WITNESSED ANYTHING LIKE THAT IN MY ENTIRE CAREER AT THIS TABLE!
Milli Banks: Damn.
Pandora Paisley: Professional wrestling, everyone.
Gavin Kirkland: Joso is back in the ring and already carrying that simmering resentment he has been stockpiling since his first encounter with Kelton earlier in this match! He moves toward Kelton looking to pick him up but Kelton BEATS HIM TO IT AND HAULS JOSO UP INSTEAD… PLANTING HIM WITH A SPINEBUSTER! Kelton stumbles back toward his corner!
(TAG!)
Gavin Kirkland: VEENA ADAMS STEPS INTO THE RING AND SHE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY! She has been itching to get her hands on someone for a while now and she wastes absolutely zero time, immediately unloading close-range strikes on everything in her vicinity! Elbows and forearms raining down on Joso from the moment she steps through those ropes, echoing that same intensity from their earlier exchange in this match!
Deadprez: BUT JOSO IS NOT GOING TO ABSORB THIS WITHOUT ANSWERING BACK THIS TIME! He begins firing his own forearms right back at her with everything he has and now both of them are standing in the middle of that ring, trading shots at close range! JOSO! VEENA! JOSO! VEENA! THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY GOING AT IT OUT THERE!
Gavin Kirkland: Joso seizes a brief advantage and BLASTS Veena across the jaw with a Bicycle Kick that snaps her head sideways… AND VEENA COMES FIRING BACK OFF THE ROPES WITH A JUMPING KNEE STRIKE IN IMMEDIATE RESPONSE!
Deadprez: Joso gets pushed back by that knee strike and tries to go for the Slingblade, but Veena reads it and ducks underneath, then wraps around the arm looking to convert into a German Suplex! Joso manages to throw his weight down using his legs and DRIVES an elbow directly into the bridge of Veena’s nose, forcing her to release the attempt! Joso hits the ropes and bounces back at full speed—
Gavin Kirkland: SPEARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! JOSO GETS SNATCHED CLEAN OUT OF MID-AIR BY VEENA WITH A COUNTER SPEAR THAT STOPS HIM DEAD!
Sienna Swann: Bea Valentine sees none of that sitting well with her and has no choice but to come back into the ring to intervene, sweetie! She is going for the BEA STING but Veena sidesteps it cleanly–
(## THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT)
Gavin Kirkland: RUNNING KNEE STRIKE FROM KELTON CATCHES VALENTINE ON THE WAY THROUGH AND SHE STUMBLES DIRECTLY INTO A GERMAN SUPLEX FROM VEENA ADAMS! SOMEHOW THAT CHAIN OF EVENTS WORKS PERFECTLY AND IT MOMENTARILY DISORIENTS VEENA FROM THE SHEER CHAOS OF IT ALL!
Pandora Paisley: She ought to be considerably more grateful for that assist than she looks right now, I’ll tell you that much.
Milli Banks: We could be approaching the finish here. Veena Adams is moving into the cover, and Jon Kelton is doing the necessary work of keeping Valentine away from the ring to protect the count. Good decision-making from him.
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Milli Banks: JOSO POWERS OUT AT TWO! This is going to take considerably more than that to put him down for good.
Sienna Swann: Of course it is, sweetie. When has anything in this match been remotely straightforward? I have aged visibly sitting at this table tonight.
Gavin Kirkland: Jon Kelton is back up on the apron and reaching out for the tag, at least trying to keep some semblance of structure going for his team!
Jon Kelton: (Off-Mic) VEENA, MY TURN! TAG OUT!
Veena Adams: (Off-Mic) YOU ENTITLED LITTLE SHIT, YOU DRAGGED ME INTO THIS AND NOW YOU ALREADY WANT ME OUT?! SHUT THE HELL UP!
Deadprez: Kelton is at least attempting to establish some cooperative rhythm but Veena wants absolutely no part of it. She steers her focus back toward Joso to avoid the conversation entirely and reaches for his arm to set something up.
Pandora Paisley: Lord, woman. Why is it so difficult to just accept the tag? Why do you have to be this insufferable? Reminds me of someone else at this table tonight, actually.
Milli Banks: ?…. …Are you referring to me specifically?
Gavin Kirkland: Veena attempts to roll Joso over into the Kimura Lock looking to finish this with Killer Queen’s Rhapsody, but Joso snaps wide awake at the critical moment and yanks Veena’s head down before she can fully apply it! Joso hoists Veena up and LAUNCHES HER DOWN TO THE CANVAS WITH A POWERBOMB!
Deadprez: Veena gets driven into the canvas and Joso rises immediately as she struggles to peel herself off the mat… CURB STOMP! VEENA GOES FACE FIRST INTO THE CANVAS AND SHE IS DOWN!
Sienna Swann: The Curb Stomp is an effective and deeply unpleasant manoeuvre and Veena Adams just absorbed the full version of it, sweetie!
Gavin Kirkland: Kelton has no choice now but to get himself into that ring and disrupt whatever Joso is building before this match reaches a conclusion without him! Kelton comes through the ropes but Joso spots the incoming knee strike, catches the leg, and POPS KELTON UP INTO A POP-UP KNEE STRIKE OF HIS OWN! Joso then reaches over to Kelton and pulls him in–
(EXECUTIONER FROM HELL!)
Gavin Kirkland: INTO THE CUTTER AND KELTON IS DRIVEN INTO THE CANVAS! EXECUTIONER FROM HELL CONNECTS AND JON KELTON IS DOWN!
Deadprez: Veena is seen stumbling back to her feet at that same moment and Joso wheels around, reaches over to collect her and hoists her up, wrapping both legs around both arms as Joso appears to be positioning himself for something entirely different now, strength on full display… CRIMSON PEAK CONNECTS!
Pandora Paisley: Don’t you dare….
ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE–
Gavin Kirkland: VEENA ADAMS KICKS OUT AT TWO!
Milli Banks: Even without Jon’s direct involvement in that stretch, Veena held her own well enough. Perhaps she had a point about her own capabilities.
Pandora Paisley: Huh? What exactly is that supposed to mean? Are you calling Jon useless as well?
Milli Banks: I am simply making an observation.
Pandora Paisley: Hey, maybe Bronson would be considerably better off without you dragging him down too! God only knows how anyone survives being around someone as miserable as you on a daily basis.
Milli Banks: … You think that was funny?
Gavin Kirkland: Ladies, perhaps we should all just take a breath here…
Sienna Swann: Could both of you please be quiet? Some of us are trying to call a match.
(Both headsets come off. Pandora and Milli are now fully squared up next to the commentary table.)
Gavin Kirkland: AND PANDORA JUST GOT SHOVED BY MILLI AND NOW THEY ARE BRAWLING RIGHT HERE NEXT TO US AT RINGSIDE!
Sienna Swann: Why does everything in my vicinity have to descend into complete disorder, sweetie. Every single week.
Deadprez: Kelton spots the situation deteriorating on the outside and moves to pull Pandora back, but she immediately turns that energy on him and now Kelton has a brawl of his own to deal with at ringside!
(Joso is recovering in the corner, taking a moment to breathe after putting Veena down, when Bea makes a tag and steps through the ropes, immediately taking stock of the cleared landscape around her.)
(TAG!)
Joso: (Off-Mic) Bro what–
Gavin Kirkland: The referee is completely consumed trying to restore order on the outside while Bea has seized the opening and come in as the freshest person in this match right now! She circles behind Veena and spins her around! BEA MY VALENTINE—
(POW!)
Deadprez: SUPERKICK FROM JOSO! He was not remotely done and he was not about to let Bea put this away without his input! Joso has turned his attention directly onto Bea and now this match has no walls left to contain it! Veena sees the situation outside, registers that Milli has been completely drawn into the brawl down there, and drops off the apron to join it! It is absolute bedlam!
(DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING!
Gavin Kirkland: The fighting has spilled in every direction, and the referee cannot be in enough places at once to address any of it! Another Showdown main event dissolving into complete anarchy! How much longer is this level of chaos going to keep presenting itself on this show?!
Sienna Swann: I am surrounded by the most ungovernable collection of individuals I have ever encountered in a professional context, sweetie. Not a single person in that building tonight, and I mean not a single solitary one, knows how to conduct themselves with even the bare minimum of dignity!
Deadprez: This is how Showdown is being played out once more! CHAOS!
(Jon Kelton, Milli Banks, Veena Adams, and Pandora Paisley are all tangled up in a full brawl on the outside while Joso continues dismantling Bea Valentine inside the ring with focused and relentless intensity. Every corner of the arena has become a separate conflict. The fighting refuses to be contained, spilling across the floor and up the barricade as the crowd unleashes an increasingly deafening wall of noise at the spectacle unraveling in front of them. Showdown fades out on the image of pure, ungovernable chaos spreading in every direction with no resolution in sight, the brawl still very much alive as the final seconds tick away.)
