(Fight Grid intro plays.)
[SCREENBAR – Smoothie King Center, after Sunday Night Voltage.]
(The camera fades to the backstage area of the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, where the last Sunday Night Voltage was held. Specifically, the camera fades into Captain Charisma’s office. He is seen sitting behind his desk as usual, working until he hears someone knocking on his door.)
Captain Charisma: You can come in.
(The door opens, and the camera reveals that there’s not just one person at the door, but two. They are the former Unified Tag Team Champions, Alex Myers and Ruler. Neither of them look too pleased, and they walk towards Captain Charisma’s desk as the Commissioner begins to speak.)
Captain Charisma: Alex, Ruler, good to see you too! Can I help you?
Alex Myers: Yeah, actually. Pain for Pride is coming. We thought that we’d be walking into the show as the Unified Tag Team Champions, but things did not go to plan. Losing those titles this close to the biggest event of the year has left us in a tough spot, and right now we’re wondering what options we may have left.
Ruler: That’s right. While the two of us have always considered ourselves capable of bouncing back from failure, right now our question is whether or not we even have enough time to do so. While we had no intentions of giving up, do we even have any options heading into the biggest event of the year? I’m sure you could understand why something like this would be important to us, especially knowing just how close we were to being able to defend the Unified Tag Team Championships at the show.
Captain Charisma: Don’t worry, I do know how much this means to you guys, and if anything, I appreciate the fact that you two are so passionate. Now, you two have spent a lot of time talking about the tag team division and how much you wanted to elevate it. You two seem to want to better the division and that’s great. If you really mean what you say and you’re as passionate as you’ve led me to believe, then maybe you should step up to the plate. I know you two aren’t pleased about losing the Unified Tag Team Championships. Nobody would be happy about losing a Championship right before Pain for Pride, but that doesn’t mean your road to Pain for Pride is over. There are still opportunities available, you know that, right?
(This gets both Alex and Ruler to think, and Captain Charisma continues.)
Captain Charisma: What happened at Fighting Spirit can’t be erased. The Jaded Hearts are the Unified Tag Team Champions. However, Pain for Pride is a show full of opportunities that I’m sure you two could capitalize on. If you two would like to enter the 24/7 Battle Royal, either one of you could win and use the contract to challenge for any Championship of your choosing. You two could easily enter that match, or you could take a stand and find another way to compete at Pain for Pride.
(Neither Alex nor Ruler had really considered competing in the 24/7 Battle Royal, let alone any other match at Pain for Pride. They look at each other for a moment, considering the options Captain Charisma has given them. After a moment, they turn back to him.)
Ruler: You’ve given us something to think about. We’ll need some time before we have an answer.
Captain Charisma: That’s fine. Pain for Pride is still weeks away. I’m sure you two will figure something out.
(They nod, before turning and beginning to walk out of Captain Charisma’s office. Captain Charisma has a smile on his face as they close the door, before turning and going back to his work. From there, the camera begins fading to black.)
(Fight Grid logo buzzes.)
