Showdown: Resurrection V
With this special event, Showdown did not waste any time and went straight to the action. To open the night in the strongest way possible, we had an Answers World Championship Match featuring Y2Impact, the Heart Break Gal and the AWC himself, Darth Lannister. From the get-go, I knew that HBG and Y2Impact would be so focused on hurting one another that Lannister would seize the opportunity to put one of them away and retain the title. Since it was confirmed later on the show that it will be The Pizza Boy vs. Lannister at Pain for Pride, it’s safe to say, the Heart Break Gal vs. Y2Impact will be another match featured on the Pain for Pride card. After the AWC Match, we got another Showdown match confirmed for Pain for Pride. Stuffed Cross (Nobi and Lioncross) will take on The High Rollerz (Jack Ripley and David Davidson) for the EAW Unified Tag Team Championship! This match got made after Lioncross made the decision that he wanted to retire at Pain for Pride X. High Rollerz thought to make fun of the situation and BAM, we got another Pain for Pride Match! I’m gonna cry when Lioncross retires. :c After the segment, we got our Showdown Representative for the Extreme Enigma Elimination Match. Just like I said last week, Chris Elite, Lars Grier, Stark or Ryan Marx would have been deserving of getting into the match. Happily, Ryan won the match and it could look like Showdown might have this match in the bag. The Pizza Boy vs. Brian Daniels was one of the best matches of the night. Now, I wasn’t here when the turmoil of this match getting cut short. It was such a shame because the storytelling in this match was amazing. I felt like they should have posted the match live despite it being late at night. I mean, we stay up late for the main event around Pain for Pride, why not make an exception for any other shows before Pain for Pride? It doesn’t need to be a regular thing, but make an exception every now and then. Devan Dubian vs. Jaywalker was another great match. Did not expect the return of the Heart Break Boy at all! I assumed that he was going to make things even with Ares at ring side with Jaywalker. I knew things were going to get insane during the match. It was chaotic after the match and it got very crazy with the return of the man who is the only one allowed to have a CM Punk pic base, the GOAT, CM Banks! It feels like my childhood is coming back to me. Banks was there, Devan was there, Jaywalker was there; Ares was not there, but I’m interested to see if there will be a third person involved with Jaywalker and Ares or what, but this just got a lot more interesting.
Match of the Week
Robbie V vs. Mr. DEDEDE
For my Beef of the Week and Match of the Week, obviously, I had to give it to the Battle of the Gods II. This was a match that did not require much build up for the second match because there was a SHITLOAD of build when it came to the first match at Pain for Pride 7. With Mr. DEDEDE getting the victory at Pain for Pride 7, I had the feeling Robbie V would somehow get the victory in this second match. To be honest, with a match as huge as this one, this was a match worthy of a Pain for Pride stage. This match could have been sold as a Pain for Pride match and I would buy tickets for it in a heartbeat. This match was astonishing! Both men showed why they were truly Gods in their own ways. Both men showed why they are the reasons why we should inspire to be like them. It’s matches like these that made me fall in love with EAW. Even though I knew Robbie would win this match, I did not expect Jacob Senn to be the reason why Robbie won. With seeing Senn interfere in this match, it gives me the impression that he will face Mr. DEDEDE at Pain for Pride. It seems like this will be the route they are going for.

Lannister
LANNISTER WINS AGAIN! Even when the odds seem against him, Lannister never gives up! Lannister finds a way! Now, he sets his focus into Pain for Pride X and his opponent for the match? Well, none other than the man he cashed in the Answers World Champion on, the man who outlasted twenty-nine other man in Grand Rampage, The Pizza Boy! I don’t know about you guys, but this is one of the matches I have been waiting to happen for a long, long time now. Well, not a long time, but ever since December at Road to Redemption. At the moment, Lannister has done a great job at playing the role of a dominating champion. The Pizza Boy has done great at being the likeable underdog who could possibly be the one to dethrone the champion. To me, this match seems fantastic in paper. This are the types of matches that I am always interested in reading. I feel like these two are going to steal the show at Pain for Pride. I look forward to see how Lannister is on this road to Pain for Pride, I cannot wait to see the continued build up with PB and Lannister. This should be good!
Woman of the Week
Savannah Sunshine
If you were to tell me that someone with “Sunshine” in their name would be Woman of the Week OR even Rising Star of the Week, I would have laughed, but for the first time being featured in this MVE, she finds herself resting comfortable in two different categories. Two weeks ago, she managed to get a victory on her debut and last week, she got the winning pin in a Tag Team Match with her and Kimi Hendrix against Empire’s version of The Golden Lovers featuring Haruna Sakazaki and Azumi Goto. From her first two matches, I see potential in her. I see that she could play a major factor in the title pictures. I can see her being a fantastic face when it comes to a very heel champion. I feel like if she continues down the road she is headed, then within a couple months, I can see her being in title contention. Not being here a month and I already see something brewing between The Coven’s Jocelyn Diemos and Savannah. I feel like this could be a feud in the making and it should be quite interesting to see how things progress with her. I hope that she stays long enough to see growth and progressing because I think she is a gem on Empire, where there’s not much faces.

The Pizza Boy
Going against someone was great as a friend in Brian Daniels, people may have looked at The Pizza Boy and think that there was no way that he could defeat Brian. To those people which think that, they must not know the heart The Pizza Boy has. The Pizza Boy has been through hell and back. He has had things stripped away from him. He has been pushed to the edge by almost everyone in EAW. Yet, he never gives up and always has a fighting spirit. Besides, he managed to sneak away with a victory against Brian with a rollup. There is something smart about him and I have no doubts in my mind that he will come up with something and outsmart Lannister at Pain for Pride. Honestly, everyone should have known that this is the match The Pizza Boy has been wanting since Road to Redemption back in December. There was no way that he was going to face Jamie or Drastik. Nah, he was going to go with the man who has been a force to be reckon with for about five months now and be the one to dethrone him. Am I crazy to think that The Pizza Boy can be Answers World Champion? He’s done it once! He knows what it takes to be a champion. What he needs to do is do whatever he did at Road to Redemption and win again!
